The rein registry collects case record data from patients with end stage renal disease followed in French Guiana. This allows to generate incidence and rates for terminal renal disease, mo...
Cardiovascular disease after renal transplantation is an important problem. Patients after renal transplantation with low LDL-Levels (
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of renal transplantation on fluid overload and its consequence on the severity of obstructive sleep apnea, in patients with end stage...
End-stage renal disease related to AA amyloidosis is well characterized but there is limited data concerning patient and graft outcomes after renal transplantation. The aim of this study i...
In Egypt, the prevalence of end stage renal disease in pediatric population has never been estimated on a national scale. The patients at end stage renal disease encounter oral and dental ...
In the general population, even mild renal disease is associated with increased cardiovascular (CV) complications. Whether this is true in liver transplant recipients (LTR) is unknown.
Polyomavirus-associated nephropathy is associated with high risk of kidney allograft loss. Whether the cause of native end-stage renal disease influences the risk of BK infection is unclear.
Kidney transplantation (KT) is the treatment of choice for end-stage renal disease. Preemptive KT (PKT) should be considered when glomerular filtration rate is
Among the renal cystic diseases that result in end-stage renal disease, an important hereditary cause is medullary cystic kidney disease, which affects adults in an autosomal dominant pattern. It is c...
Lithium is the treatment of choice for patients suffering from bipolar disorder (BD) but prolonged use induces renal dysfunction in at least 20% of patient. Intensive monitoring of kidney functioning ...
Final stage of a liver disease when the liver failure is irreversible and LIVER TRANSPLANTATION is needed.
The end-stage of CHRONIC RENAL INSUFFICIENCY. It is characterized by the severe irreversible kidney damage (as measured by the level of PROTEINURIA) and the reduction in GLOMERULAR FILTRATION RATE to less than 15 ml per min (Kidney Foundation: Kidney Disease Outcome Quality Initiative, 2002). These patients generally require HEMODIALYSIS or KIDNEY TRANSPLANTATION.
Conditions in which the KIDNEYS perform below the normal level for more than three months. Chronic kidney insufficiency is classified by five stages according to the decline in GLOMERULAR FILTRATION RATE and the degree of kidney damage (as measured by the level of PROTEINURIA). The most severe form is the end-stage renal disease (CHRONIC KIDNEY FAILURE). (Kidney Foundation: Kidney Disease Outcome Quality Initiative, 2002)
General dysfunction of an organ occurring immediately following its transplantation. The term most frequently refers to renal dysfunction following KIDNEY TRANSPLANTATION.
Functional KIDNEY FAILURE in patients with liver disease, usually LIVER CIRRHOSIS or portal hypertension (HYPERTENSION, PORTAL), and in the absence of intrinsic renal disease or kidney abnormality. It is characterized by intense renal vasculature constriction, reduced renal blood flow, OLIGURIA, and sodium retention.
