The study aim at examining whether Sumatriptan changes the plasma values of the neuropeptides vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP), calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) and pituitary ...
The aim of the present study is to explore functional consequences of migraine gene mutations on their responses to Calcitonin Gene Related Peptide (CGRP)infusion.
The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness and tolerability of two medications, calcitonin nasal spray and a tablet containing calcitonin, in postmenopausal women with oste...
The purpose of this study is to expose patients with OA to calcitonin and to determine plasma calcitonin levels after administration of 0.6 mg and 0.8 mg oral calcitonin and 200 IU nasal c...
In patients known with migraine without aura a migraine headache or migraine like headache will be induced by infusion of calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP). The patients will then be ...
Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) is formed by alternative transcription of the calcitonin/α-CGRP gene, which also gives rise to calcitonin (CT). Recently, CGRP has been the focus of research fo...
Although intra-arterial infusion of calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) reportedly stimulates giant migrating contractions (GMCs) of the small intestine in conscious dogs, the effect of intravenous...
To quantify the Substance P (SP) and Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) expression in healthy human periodontal ligament from premolars after root canal preparation with Reciproc Blue, WaveOne Gol...
To briefly update and correct the available data on anti-calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) therapies for headache since the American Headache Society 60th Scientific Meeting, San Francisco, June ...
Calcitonin gene-related peptide. A 37-amino acid peptide derived from the calcitonin gene. It occurs as a result of alternative processing of mRNA from the calcitonin gene. The neuropeptide is widely distributed in neural tissue of the brain, gut, perivascular nerves, and other tissue. The peptide produces multiple biological effects and has both circulatory and neurotransmitter modes of action. In particular, it is a potent endogenous vasodilator.
Cell surface proteins that bind calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) with high affinity and trigger intracellular changes which influence the behavior of cells. CGRP receptors are present in both the central nervous system and the periphery and are not the same as calcitonin receptors.
A receptor activity-modifying protein that is a subunit of specific G-PROTEIN COUPLED RECEPTORS. The CALCITONIN GENE-RELATED PEPTIDE RECEPTOR is formed from a dimer of this protein and CALCITONIN RECEPTOR-LIKE PROTEIN, while an isoform of the ISLET AMYLOID POLYPEPTIDE RECEPTOR is formed from this protein dimerizing with the CALCITONIN RECEPTOR.
Cell surface proteins that bind calcitonin and trigger intracellular changes which influence the behavior of cells. Calcitonin receptors outside the nervous system mediate the role of calcitonin in calcium homeostasis. The role of calcitonin receptors in the brain is not well understood.
A receptor protein that is associated with RECEPTOR ACTIVITY-MODIFYING PROTEINS. When bound to RECEPTOR ACTIVITY-MODIFYING PROTEIN 1 it forms the CALCITONIN GENE-RELATED RECEPTOR. When bound to RECEPTOR ACTIVITY-MODIFYING PROTEIN 2 or RECEPTOR ACTIVITY-MODIFYING PROTEIN 3 it forms the ADRENOMEDULLIN RECEPTOR.
