Efficacy of the Interferential Laser Therapy in Pain Reduction in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy of the interferential laser therapy in the wrist and hand pain and disability reduction and force improvement in the carpal tunnel sy...

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Treated With 830nm Diode Laser

The purpose of this study is to determine that 830nm diode laser directly above the transverse carpal ligament (between the pisiform and navicular bone) on subjects' wrists, and test this ...

Safety and Efficacy of a Novel Carpal Tunnel Tissue Manipulation Device in Treating Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

A single-center, prospective, non-randomized study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a novel carpal tunnel tissue manipulation device in treating symptoms and decreased physical funct...

The Use of Ultrasound to Quantify Muscle Overlying the Carpal Tunnel

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a common condition that still lacks a reliable, objective screening test. Many anatomical aspects of the syndrome have been studied including the dimensions...

Nerve Entrapment in Diabetic Patients

The aim of this study is in a prospective, consecutive series of diabetic patients with carpal tunnel syndrome, who are then age and gender matched with non-diabetic patients having idiopa...

Optimal Laser Phototherapy Parameters for Pain Relief.

Studies on laser phototherapy for pain relief have used parameters that vary widely and have reported varying outcomes. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimal parameter ranges of laser...

Pure-three-level Yb:GdCOB CW laser at 976  nm.

We present what is, to the best of our knowledge, the first pure-three-level Yb:CaGdO(BO) (Yb:GdCOB) laser emitting at 976 nm based on the F2-F2 transition, generally used for a quasi-three-level emi...

Clinical evaluation and in-vivo analysis of the performance of a fractional infrared 1550 nm laser system for skin rejuvenation.

This study was done to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of a novel fractional 1550 nm laser device with a rolling mechanism (FRAX1550 Ellipse Medical, Horsholm, Denmark).

Cross-sectional Area Just Proximal to the Carpal Tunnel According to the Ulnar Variances: Positive Ulnar Variance and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

We evaluated the relationship between the area around the distal radioulnar joint according to the ulnar variances and the cross-sectional area using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans in this pro...

A prognostic model for the patient reported outcome of surgical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome.

Many prognostic factors have been studied in carpal tunnel decompression but most studies consider only a subset of variables.

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

A technique utilizing a laser coupled to a catheter which is used in the dilatation of occluded blood vessels. This includes laser thermal angioplasty where the laser energy heats up a metal tip, and direct laser angioplasty where the laser energy directly ablates the occlusion. One form of the latter approach uses an EXCIMER LASER which creates microscopically precise cuts without thermal injury. When laser angioplasty is performed in combination with balloon angioplasty it is called laser-assisted balloon angioplasty (ANGIOPLASTY, BALLOON, LASER-ASSISTED).

Treatment using irradiation with LASER light of low power intensity so that the effects are not due to heat, as in LASER THERAPY. These non-thermal effects are thought to be mediated by a photochemical reaction that alters CELL MEMBRANE PERMEABILITY, leading to increased mRNA synthesis and CELL PROLIFERATION. Low-level laser therapy has been used for a wide variety of conditions, but most frequently for wound healing and pain control.

Techniques using laser energy in combination with a balloon catheter to perform angioplasty. These procedures can take several forms including: 1, laser fiber delivering the energy while the inflated balloon centers the fiber and occludes the blood flow; 2, balloon angioplasty immediately following laser angioplasty; or 3, laser energy transmitted through angioplasty balloons that contain an internal fiber.

Fragmentation of CALCULI, notably urinary or biliary, by LASER.

Techniques using a laser to cut away and harvest a specific cell or cluster of cells from a tissue section while viewing it under the microscope.
