A Multi-National Study In Bladder Cancer Patients to Detect Recurrences After TURB (Trans-urethral Resection of the Bladder) Earlier With the Xpert Bladder Cancer Monitor Assay (ANTICIPATE X)

Bladder cancer is the 5th most common cancer in Europe, with more than 151,000 new cases diagnosed in 2012 (4% of the total). Bladder cancer has the highest recurrence rate of any malignan...

Effect on Xpert® Bladder Test of Urines Inflammatory Milieu Induced by BCG Treatment of Patients With NMIBC

Intravesical BCG immunotherapy is used after transurethral resection (TUR) for the prevention of recurrence of NMIBC. BCG treatment is usually started a few weeks after TUR and is given on...

Study of CP-675,206 in Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG)-Resistant Bladder Cancer

The purpose of this study is to find out the highest safe dose of the investigational drug CP-675,206 when given in combination with BCG therapy to patients who have experienced recurrent ...

Quality of Life in Patients With Bladder Cancer

The purpose of this study is to learn about the quality of life of people living with bladder cancer. We are interested in learning about how the treatments for bladder cancer affect peopl...

Multidisciplinary Bladder-preservation Therapy for Bladder Cancer

A multidisciplinary approach has led to the development of bladder-preservation therapy using maximal transurethral resection followed by radiotherapy with concomitant radio-sensitizing ch...

Prospective Validation of an mRNA-based Urine Test for Surveillance of Patients with Bladder Cancer.

A fast, noninvasive test with high sensitivity (SN) and a negative predictive value (NPV), which is able to detect recurrences in bladder cancer (BC) patients, is needed. A newly developed urine assay...

lncRNA TUC338 is a potential diagnostic biomarker for bladder cancer.

Although long noncoding RNA TUC338 has been characterized as an oncogene, its role in bladder cancer is unknown. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the function of TUC338 in bladder ca...

lncRNA PEG10 promotes cell survival, invasion and migration by sponging miR-134 in human bladder cancer.

Bladder cancer is one of common malignancies worldwide. lncRNAs and miRs are reported to play crucial roles in bladder cancer. We aimed to reveal the roles and mechanisms of lncRNA PEG10 and miR-134 i...

circGprc5a Promoted Bladder Oncogenesis and Metastasis through Gprc5a-Targeting Peptide.

Bladder cancer is a serious cancer in the world, especially in advanced countries. Bladder cancer stem cells (CSCs) drive bladder tumorigenesis and metastasis. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are involved ...

The prevalence of bladder cancer during cystoscopy for asymptomatic microscopic hematuria.

To investigate the rate of bladder cancer in patients undergoing cystoscopic evaluation for AMH in order to identify groups at sufficiently low risk for bladder cancer in whom invasive testing may be ...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Tumors or cancer of the URINARY BLADDER.

A HERNIA-like condition in which the weakened pelvic muscles cause the URINARY BLADDER to drop from its normal position. Fallen urinary bladder is more common in females with the bladder dropping into the VAGINA and less common in males with the bladder dropping into the SCROTUM.

Involuntary discharge of URINE as a result of physical activities that increase abdominal pressure on the URINARY BLADDER without detrusor contraction or overdistended bladder. The subtypes are classified by the degree of leakage, descent and opening of the bladder neck and URETHRA without bladder contraction, and sphincter deficiency.

An abnormal passage in the URINARY BLADDER or between the bladder and any surrounding organ.

Blocked urine flow through the bladder neck, the narrow internal urethral opening at the base of the URINARY BLADDER. Narrowing or strictures of the URETHRA can be congenital or acquired. It is often observed in males with enlarged PROSTATE glands.
