2019-07-31 14:47:37 | BioPortfolio

The main goal is to reveal differences in global gene expression in two different adipose tissue (AT) depots of females with and without polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and how these are influenced by upstream epigenetic markers

Refinement and Assessment of New Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologies for Vascular, Abdominal, and Pelvic Exams

This study is being done to assess new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technologies such as new hardware or software designed to improve MRI examinations of the vascular structures, abdom...

Whole Body Magnetic Resonance Angiography in Ischemic Patients

To investigate the diagnostic performance of whole body magnetic resonance angiography (WB-MRA) using two different magnetic resonance contrast agents.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Obesity

Obesity and its related conditions account for up to 5%of all health care spending in the UK and this is expected to double by 2030. Following weight loss, significant improvement in these...

Quantification of Liver Iron Overload and Steatosis Using Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Iron excess is increasingly regarded as an important cofactor in the morbidity attributed to many disorders. Assessment of body iron stores by measurement of serum ferritin concentrations ...

Magnetic Resonance Elastography for Assessment of Liver Fibrosis

This study will assess the repeatability of Magnetic Resonance Elastography (MRE) in both healthy volunteers and Hepatitis C Virus-infected patients and lay the groundwork for the validati...

3D nonrigid motion correction for quantitative assessment of hepatic lesions in DCE-MRI.

To provide nonrigid respiratory motion-corrected DCE-MRI images with isotropic resolution of 1.5 mm, full coverage of abdomen, and covering the entire uptake curve with a temporal resolution of 6 seco...

Non-invasive assessment of portal hypertension by multi-parametric magnetic resonance imaging of the spleen: A proof of concept study.

Non-invasive assessment of portal hypertension is an area of unmet need. This proof of concept study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of a multi-parametric magnetic resonance technique in the...

Initial Assessment of 3D Magnetic Resonance Fingerprinting (MRF) Towards Quantitative Brain Imaging for Radiation Therapy.

Magnetic resonance fingerprinting (MRF) provides quantitative T1/T2 maps, enabling applications in clinical radiotherapy such as large-scale, multi-center clinical trials for longitudinal assessment o...

Cardiovascular magnetic resonance feature tracking strain analysis for discrimination between hypertensive heart disease and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Hypertensive heart disease (HHD) and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) are both associated with an increased left ventricular (LV) wall thickness. Whilst LV ejection fraction is frequently normal in b...

Evaluating a novel free-breathing accelerated cardiac MRI cine sequence in patients with cardiomyopathy.

Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) is the gold standard for the assessment of left ventricular (LV) function. However, traditional sequences are time-consuming and require breath-holding. Our ai...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Systematic identification of a population's needs or the assessment of individuals to determine the proper level of services needed.

Evaluation procedures that focus on both the outcome or status (OUTCOMES ASSESSMENT) of the patient at the end of an episode of care - presence of symptoms, level of activity, and mortality; and the process (ASSESSMENT, PROCESS) - what is done for the patient diagnostically and therapeutically.

A non-invasive assessment of the stability of tissue-embedded prosthetic devices such as dental implants.

The creation of a visual display of the inside of the entire body of a human or animal for the purposes of diagnostic evaluation. This is most commonly achieved by using MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING; or POSITRON EMISSION TOMOGRAPHY.

Evaluation and measurement of nutritional variables in order to assess the level of nutrition or the NUTRITIONAL STATUS of the individual. NUTRITION SURVEYS may be used in making the assessment.

Gene Expression
The process of gene expression is used by eukaryotes, prokaryotes, and viruses to generate the macromolecular machinery for life. Steps in the gene expression process may be modulated, including the transcription, RNA splicing, translation, and post-tran...

The development and maintenance of an organism is orchestrated by a set of chemical reactions that switch parts of the genome off and on at strategic times and locations. Epigenetics is the study of these reactions and the factors that influence them. ...
