Efficacy and Safety of FS VH S/D 500 S-apr as an Adjunct to Sutured Dural Repair in Cranial Surgery

The objective of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of FS VH S/D 500 s-apr for use as an adjunct to sutured dural repair in cranial surgery.

P75NTR, Diagnostic Biomarker for Alzheimer's Disease: Quantification Study in Cerebrospinal Fluid

This research will be achieved by the assessment of p75NTR-ECD expression (total and linked to different species of Aβ (Aβ1-40 and Aβ-1-42)) within the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of pati...

DuraSeal Sealant Post Market Study

Study to further characterize the use of the DuraSeal Sealant in a post-PMA approval setting as compared to "standard of care".

The Influence of Dexmedetomidine Hypnosis on Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) Volume, Brain Diffusion and 'Stiffness' Characteristics.

The primary goal is to quantify cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) volume, diffusion characteristics and mechanical properties of brain tissue at two states of arousal.

Assessment of Cerebrospinal Fluid Flow Related Disorders Using a Phase-contrast MR Imaging Technique

Cerebrospinal fluid is a clear, colorless fluid that circulates in the cranial and spinal subarachnoid spaces, located between the pia and arachnoid matters. It is mainly produced by the c...

Trans-mastoid approach for cerebrospinal fluid leak repair.

To describe the technique and discuss the advantages and outcomes of the trans-mastoid approach (TMA) for temporal bone cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak.

Middle Turbinate Friendly Technique for Cribriform Cerebrospinal Fluid Leak Repair.

To compare surgical outcomes between 2 techniques for cribriform cerebrospinal fluid leak (CSF) repair with middle turbinate preservation (MTP) vs middle turbinate resection (MTR). A secondary outcome...

Impact of obesity and obstructive sleep apnea in lateral skull base cerebrospinal fluid leak repair.

To investigate the prevalence and impact of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and obesity in lateral skull base cerebrospinal fluid leak repair (LSBR) of various etiologies.

Development and validation of a preclinical model for training and assessment of cerebrospinal fluid leak repair in endoscopic skull base surgery.

Achieving an effective endoscopic skull base reconstruction in case of large dural defects requires specific training and can be extremely challenging. The aim of this study was to describe the develo...

Simultaneous repair of cerebrospinal fluid otorrhea and cochlear implantation in two patients with recurrent meningitis and severe inner ear malformation.

To investigate the outcomes of simultaneous cochlear implantation and repair of a cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak in two patients with inner ear malformations following meningitis.

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Discharge of cerebrospinal fluid through a hole through the skull bone most commonly draining from the nose (CEREBROSPINAL FLUID RHINORRHEA) or the ear (CEREBROSPINAL FLUID OTORRHEA).

Tubes inserted to create communication between a cerebral ventricle and the internal jugular vein. Their emplacement permits draining of cerebrospinal fluid for relief of hydrocephalus or other condition leading to fluid accumulation in the ventricles.

Discharge of cerebrospinal fluid through the nose. Common etiologies include trauma, neoplasms, and prior surgery, although the condition may occur spontaneously. (Otolaryngol Head Neck Surg 1997 Apr;116(4):442-9)

Proteins in the cerebrospinal fluid, normally albumin and globulin present in the ratio of 8 to 1. Increases in protein levels are of diagnostic value in neurological diseases. (Brain and Bannister's Clinical Neurology, 7th ed, p221)

Manometric pressure of the CEREBROSPINAL FLUID as measured by lumbar, cerebroventricular, or cisternal puncture. Within the cranial cavity it is called INTRACRANIAL PRESSURE.
