Overactive Bladder Education

Overactive bladder (OAB) is a common, chronic condition, characterized by urinary "urgency, with or without urge incontinence, usually with frequency and nocturia." Treatment adherence is...

Age-specific Prevalence and Comparisons of UDS and Bladder Diary Between OAB-wet and -Dry Women

The knowledge of the age-specific prevalence of overactive bladder syndrome (OAB)-wet and -dry women is important for understanding the impact of aging on OAB. Thus, our aim is to describe...

Detrol LA In Men With Overactive Bladder.

An interventional active/placebo double blinded parallel randomized controlled study in which at 12 weeks of treatment, the primary endpoint of patient perception of bladder condition is m...

Higher Neural Changes Following Anticholinergic, Beta 3 Agonist, or Placebo in Patients With Overactive Bladder

Women presenting with overactive bladder symptoms will be randomized to one of 3 arms (anticholinergic, beta-3 agonist, placebo). They will undergo baseline cognitive testing, functional M...

Comparing the Usability of an Electronic Bladder Diary and a Paper Bladder Diary

This piece of research is a single centre, two-way cross over, prospective study to compare the outcomes and experience of patients completing a paper bladder diary and an electronic versi...

Effects of College Athlete Life Stressors on Baseline Concussion Measures.

Concussion baseline testing helps injury evaluation by allowing postinjury comparisons to preinjury measures. To facilitate best practice, common neurocognitive, balance, and symptom report metrics us...

Influence of Test Environment, Age, Sex, and Sport on Baseline Computerized Neurocognitive Test Performance.

Baseline computerized testing is a common component of concussion assessments, and the testing environment has been suggested to influence test performance and validity.

Does baseline concussion testing aid in identifying future concussion risk?

The purpose was to determine differences in pre-season baseline performance between student-athletes who suffered a future sport-related concussion (fSRC) and those who did not. Collegiate student-ath...

Pyuria as a Marker of Urinary Tract Infection in Neurogenic Bladder: Is It Reliable?

The utility of the urinalysis as a potential marker to diagnose urinary tract infection (UTI) in patients with neurogenic bladder is controversial. We assessed the baseline urine characteristics and i...

The mechanism of ST elevation on baseline electrocardiograms (ECG) unknown but it may be associated with abnormal myocardial substrate. This paper evaluates whether clinically unrecognized myocardial ...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Assessments aimed at determining agreement in diagnostic test results among laboratories. Identical survey samples are distributed to participating laboratories, with results stratified according to testing methodologies.

Potassium channels that contain two pores in tandem. They are responsible for baseline or leak currents and may be the most numerous of all K channels.

Any dummy medication or treatment. Although placebos originally were medicinal preparations having no specific pharmacological activity against a targeted condition, the concept has been extended to include treatments or procedures, especially those administered to control groups in clinical trials in order to provide baseline measurements for the experimental protocol.

A condition of involuntary weight loss of greater then 10% of baseline body weight. It is characterized by atrophy of muscles and depletion of lean body mass. Wasting is a sign of MALNUTRITION as a result of inadequate dietary intake, malabsorption, or hypermetabolism.

A HERNIA-like condition in which the weakened pelvic muscles cause the URINARY BLADDER to drop from its normal position. Fallen urinary bladder is more common in females with the bladder dropping into the VAGINA and less common in males with the bladder dropping into the SCROTUM.
