Study to Assess Safety, Tolerability and Pharmacokinetics After Single Doses of AZD2516 to Healthy Volunteers

The primary purpose of this study is to assess the safety and tolerability of AZD2516 following administration of a single dose.

An Open Label Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Study to Determine Central mGluR5 Receptor Occupancy of AZD2516

The purpose of this study is to determine if AZD2516 binds to mGluR5 receptors in the brain. This will then help to make accurate predictions of efficacy and dosing in the future developme...

TLESR-impedance Study in Patients

The purpose of the study is to compare frequency and content of reflux episodes in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Study of Changes in Reflux Symptoms and Reflux Finding Score According to Rabeprazole Treatment Period

The purpose of this observational study is to examine RSI (Reflux Symptom Index) and RFS (Reflux Finding Score) by treatment period before and after rabeprazole treatment in LaryngoPharyng...

Correlation between the reflux finding score and the reflux symptom index in patients with laryngopharyngeal reflux.

LaryngoPharyngeal Reflux (LPR) is characterized by symptoms, signs, and/or tissue damage resulting from the aggression of the gastrointestinal contents in the upper airways. The Reflux Finding Score (...

Relieving laryngopharingeral reflux (RELIEF) survey in otolaryngology - the viewpoint of the otorhinolaryngologist.

Effect of Postprandial Administration of Esomeprazole on Reflux Symptoms in Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease: A Randomized, Controlled Trial.

Esomeprazole is commonly administered with food; however, clinical data to support this practice are lacking. We aimed to determine the effect of postprandial ingestion of esomeprazole on reflux sympt...

Reflux after esophagectomy with gastric conduit reconstruction in the posterior mediastinum for esophageal cancer: original questionnaire and EORTC QLQ-C30 survey.

Reflux following an esophagectomy with gastric conduit reconstruction in the posterior mediastinum is a clinically significant problem. In this study, we investigated the frequency and impact of reflu...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Retrograde bile flow. Reflux of bile can be from the duodenum to the stomach (DUODENOGASTRIC REFLUX); to the esophagus (GASTROESOPHAGEAL REFLUX); or to the PANCREAS.

Back flow of gastric contents to the LARYNGOPHARYNX where it comes in contact with tissues of the upper aerodigestive tract. Laryngopharyngeal reflux is an extraesophageal manifestation of GASTROESOPHAGEAL REFLUX.

A condition with damage to the lining of the lower ESOPHAGUS resulting from chronic acid reflux (ESOPHAGITIS, REFLUX). Through the process of metaplasia, the squamous cells are replaced by a columnar epithelium with cells resembling those of the INTESTINE or the salmon-pink mucosa of the STOMACH. Barrett's columnar epithelium is a marker for severe reflux and precursor to ADENOCARCINOMA of the esophagus.

Chronic ESOPHAGITIS characterized by esophageal mucosal EOSINOPHILIA. It is diagnosed when an increase in EOSINOPHILS are present over the entire esophagus. The reflux symptoms fail to respond to PROTON PUMP INHIBITORS treatment, unlike in GASTROESOPHAGEAL REFLUX DISEASE. The symptoms are associated with IgE-mediated hypersensitivity to food or inhalant allergens.

Misunderstanding among individuals, frequently research subjects, of scientific methods such as randomization and placebo controls.
