The purpose of the evaluation is to confirm operability and usability of the SL-D301 Slit Lamp and the DC-4 digital camera attachment by conducting a usability evaluation and subsequently ...
This study use anterior segment spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) to exam patients with closed globe injury, and compared with slit lamp examination. The results showed...
The investigators will enroll and scan normal eyes of healthy individuals using the Spectralis OCT. Each scan is graded on a scale of 0-40, with 0 representing the lowest quality and 40 th...
Wavefront scans are a common form of diagnostic test applied in preparing patients for laser eye surgery. An optical map of the eye is created by wavefront scanning, and information from t...
The purpose of the study is to compare the results of PRKK surgery when using wavefront-guided excimer laser treatment compared to wavefront optimized excimer laser treatment in patients w...
The slit lamp enables a well-illuminated and magnified view of the eye. There have been previous imaging devices used for recording, however the quality of the stills and video is limited by cost. We ...
Nitisinone, although unapproved for use in alkaptonuria (AKU), is currently the only homogentisic acid lowering therapy with a potential to modify disease progression in AKU. Therefore, safe use of ni...
For large amounts of wavefront error, gradient-based optimization methods for image-based wavefront sensing are unlikely to converge when the starting guess for the wavefront differs greatly from the ...
Occult globe rupture is a traumatic dehiscence of the sclera at or posterior to the rectus muscle insertions without a visible eye wall defect on slit lamp examination. Occult scleral ruptures are imp...
We aim to determine the association of the types of lamp for homework including incandescent lamp, fluorescent lamp, and light-emitting diode (LED) lamp with the prevalence of myopia in Chinese childr...
A procedure that uses a SLIT LAMP to examine structures in the front of the EYE, such as the CONJUNCTIVA; CORNEA; IRIS; and AQUEOUS HUMOR.
A microscope with a light source that can be projected into a linear beam. It allows cross-sectional viewing of the AQUEOUS HUMOR; CONJUNCTEIVA; CORNEA; EYELIDS; IRIS; and lens (see LENS, EYE) of the eye.
Self report questionnaire which yields 16 scores on personality traits, such as reserved vs. outgoing, humble vs. assertive, etc.
Asymmetries in the topography and refractive index of the corneal surface that affect visual acuity.
Technique using an instrument system for making, processing, and displaying one or more measurements on individual cells obtained from a cell suspension. Cells are usually stained with one or more fluorescent dyes specific to cell components of interest, e.g., DNA, and fluorescence of each cell is measured as it rapidly transverses the excitation beam (laser or mercury arc lamp). Fluorescence provides a quantitative measure of various biochemical and biophysical properties of the cell, as well as a basis for cell sorting. Other measurable optical parameters include light absorption and light scattering, the latter being applicable to the measurement of cell size, shape, density, granularity, and stain uptake.
