A Drug Interaction Study Between Tocilizumab, Methotrexate and Simvastatin on Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis.

This 2 arm study will investigate the pharmacokinetics of simvastatin and methotrexate in combination with tocilizumab to assess any potential drug interactions. Patients will be randomiz...

A Study of Tocilizumab With or Without Methotrexate in Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis.

This open-label, single-arm, non-randomized study will evaluate the adherence and persistence to tocilizumab therapy in patients with moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis, who ha...

A Study of Tocilizumab and Methotrexate in Combination or as Monotherapy in Treatment-Naïve Patients With Early Rheumatoid Arthritis

This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study will compare the efficacy with regard to sustained remission and safety of tocilizumab and methotrexate, in combination or as monoth...

A Study of Subcutaneously Administered Tocilizumab in Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis

This open-label randomized 2arm study will investigate the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, efficacy and safety of subcutaneously administered tocilizumab in patients with rheumatoid ar...

A Study of Tocilizumab as Monotherapy and in Combination With Methotrexate Versus Methotrexate in Patients With Early Moderate to Severe Rheumatoid Arthritis

Tocilizumab and the risk for cardiovascular disease: a direct comparison among biologic disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs for rheumatoid arthritis patients.

Multiple studies have observed seemingly unfavorable changes in lipid profiles associated with IL6 receptor antagonists (IL-6R) and some other rheumatoid arthritis (RA) therapies. The real-world cardi...

Heart Rate-corrected QT Interval Duration in Rheumatoid Arthritis and Its Reduction with Treatment with the Interleukin 6 Inhibitor Tocilizumab.

Individuals with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are at a heightened risk of sudden cardiac death, an outcome increased in those with prolongation of the corrected electrocardiographic QT interval (QTc). We...

Effective Desensitization to Tocilizumab in Delayed Hypersensitivity Reaction.

We present tocilizumab desensitization of a 47-year-old woman affected by rheumatoid arthritis with full body delayed erythematous urticarial reaction. Skin test for tocilizumab gave cutaneous reactio...

Tocilizumab in Giant Cell Arteritis.

Giant cell arteritis is a granulomatous immune-mediated vasculitis of medium and large vessels. It most commonly affects Caucasian females over the age of 50 and is the most common primary vasculitis ...

Tocilizumab modulates serum levels of adiponectin and chemerin in patients with rheumatoid arthritis: potential cardiovascular protective role of IL-6 inhibition.

Adipokines play an important role in the pathophysiology of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), provide a link between the disease and overweight, contributing to explain the enhanced cardiovascular (CV) risk ...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Arthritis in children, with onset before 16 years of age. The terms juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA) and juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) refer to classification systems for chronic arthritis in children. Only one subtype of juvenile arthritis (polyarticular-onset, rheumatoid factor-positive) clinically resembles adult rheumatoid arthritis and is considered its childhood equivalent.

Rheumatoid arthritis of children occurring in three major subtypes defined by the symptoms present during the first six months following onset: systemic-onset (Still's Disease, Juvenile-Onset), polyarticular-onset, and pauciarticular-onset. Adult-onset cases of Still's disease (STILL'S DISEASE, ADULT-ONSET) are also known. Only one subtype of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (polyarticular-onset, rheumatoid factor-positive) clinically resembles adult rheumatoid arthritis and is considered its childhood equivalent.

A variable mixture of the mono- and disodium salts of gold thiomalic acid used mainly for its anti-inflammatory action in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. It is most effective in active progressive rheumatoid arthritis and of little or no value in the presence of extensive deformities or in the treatment of other forms of arthritis.

Systemic-onset rheumatoid arthritis in adults. It differs from classical rheumatoid arthritis in that it is more often marked by acute febrile onset, and generalized lymphadenopathy and hepatosplenomegaly are more prominent.

Antibodies found in adult RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS patients that are directed against GAMMA-CHAIN IMMUNOGLOBULINS.
