Lenalidomide, Cyclophosphamide, and Dexamethasone in Treating Patients With Newly Diagnosed Multiple Myeloma

RATIONALE: Lenalidomide may stop the growth of multiple myeloma by blocking blood flow to the cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cyclophosphamide and dexamethasone, work in differ...

Treatment With Velcade (Bortezomib) Plus Dexamethasone (VD) or VD Plus Cyclophosphamide or VD Plus Lenalidomide in Patients With Multiple Myeloma Stabilized After 4 Cycles of VD

The purpose of this study is to test the effectiveness and safety of adding cyclophosphamide or lenalidomide to the VD combination in the treatment of patients with multiple myeloma that h...

Lenalidomide and Melphalan in Treating Patients With Previously Untreated Multiple Myeloma

RATIONALE: Lenalidomide may stop the growth of multiple myeloma by blocking blood flow to the cancer. It may also stimulate the immune system in different ways and stop cancer cells from g...

A Dose Escalation Study of the Combination of Lenalidomide (Revlimid®), Dexamethasone and Cyclophosphamide in Patients Refractory or Relapsing From Stable Disease With Multiple Myeloma

The purpose of this study is to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) and to evaluate the safety of cyclophosphamide when given on days 1 and 8 in a 28 day cycle in doses starting at ...

Study to Determine Efficacy and Safety of Lenalidomide Plus Low-dose Dexamethasone Versus Melphalan, Prednisone, Thalidomide in Patients With Previously Untreated Multiple Myeloma

The purpose of this study is to compare the safety and efficacy of Lenalidomide plus low dose dexamethasone to that of the combination of melphalan, prednisone and thalidomide.

Cyclophosphamide's addition in relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma patients with biochemical progression during lenalidomide-dexamethasone treatment.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the addition of Cyclophosphamide in relapsed-refractory Multiple Myeloma patients (RRMM) who experienced biochemical relapse or progression without CRAB, during t...

Cost-effectiveness of lenalidomide in combination with dexamethasone compared to bortezomib in combination with dexamethasone for the second-line treatment of multiple myeloma in Chile.

Multiple myeloma is a hematologic malignancy affecting bone marrow derived plasma cells. Current therapies are not able to eradicate the disease and most patients become refractory to the treatment. L...

Increased Risk of Ischemic Stroke in Multiple Myeloma Associated With Lenalidomide Treatment: A Case Report and Review of the Literature.

The aim of the study was to illustrate the increased risk of ischemic stroke in the context of multiple myeloma (MM) under treatment with lenalidomide combined with dexamethasone.

Lenalidomide versus lenalidomide + dexamethasone prolonged treatment after second-line lenalidomide + dexamethasone induction in multiple myeloma.

Lenalidomide (Len) plus dexamethasone (Dex) is approved for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM). It is possible that single-agent Len may be effective as prolonged treatmen...

Maintenance and continuous therapy for multiple myeloma.

In multiple myeloma (MM), maintenance therapy is a longer and less intensive treatment course than initial therapy that is administered after induction to delay disease progression. Maintenance and co...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

An asymptomatic and slow-growing PLASMA CELL dyscrasia characterized by presence of MYELOMA PROTEINS and clonal bone marrow plasma cells without end-organ damage (e.g., renal impairment). It is distinguished from MONOCLONAL GAMMOPATHY OF UNDETERMINED SIGNIFICANCE by a much higher risk of progression to symptomatic MULTIPLE MYELOMA.

A rare, aggressive variant of MULTIPLE MYELOMA characterized by the circulation of excessive PLASMA CELLS in the peripheral blood. It can be a primary manifestation of multiple myeloma or develop as a terminal complication during the disease.

Abnormal immunoglobulins characteristic of MULTIPLE MYELOMA.

An alkylating nitrogen mustard that is used as an antineoplastic in the form of the levo isomer - MELPHALAN, the racemic mixture - MERPHALAN, and the dextro isomer - MEDPHALAN; toxic to bone marrow, but little vesicant action; potential carcinogen.

Precursor of an alkylating nitrogen mustard antineoplastic and immunosuppressive agent that must be activated in the LIVER to form the active aldophosphamide. It has been used in the treatment of LYMPHOMA and LEUKEMIA. Its side effect, ALOPECIA, has been used for defleecing sheep. Cyclophosphamide may also cause sterility, birth defects, mutations, and cancer.
