This Phase II study is to explore the efficacy and toxicity of Pegylated liposomal doxorubicin and Carboplatin in patients with previously untreated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) not amenable to radiotherapy or surgical treatment. The planned enrollment for this trial is 48 patients (including a 10% rate for inevaluable patients).
Pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD) is the first antineoplastic drug derived from the new technology of liposome formulation to be introduced in clinical practice. The low myocardium uptake of this formulation accounts for its reduced cardiac toxicity, confirmed both in preclinical models and in humans. Preclinical data have shown activity in NSCLC xenografts. This Phase II study is to explore the efficacy and toxicity of Pegylated liposomal doxorubicin and Carboplatin in patients with previously untreated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) not amenable to radiotherapy or surgical treatment.

The optimal chemotherapy regimen for non-small cell lung cancer patients with interstitial lung disease is unclear. We therefore investigated the safety and efficacy of carboplatin plus nab-paclitaxel...
In some developed countries, a proportion of nonsquamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSq NSCLC) patients are aged over 70 years when they are diagnosed. However, evidence of lung cancer chemotherapy u...
Acquired resistances to tyrosine kinase inhibitors in non-small cell lung cancer develop after 9 - 12 month. In 60 % of the cases these resistances arise because of a secondary EGFR-T790 M res...
Accumulating evidence has implicated the aberrant regulation of histone deacetylases (HDACs) as a nexus for multiple cancer hallmarks and in mediating tumor adaptation and resistance to genotoxic chem...
Carboplatin is widely used to treat lung cancer in the United States as an alternative to cisplatin. Several studies have demonstrated that cisplatin-based regimen is associated with a high frequency ...
Malignant neoplasm arising from the epithelium of the BRONCHI. It represents a large group of epithelial lung malignancies which can be divided into two clinical groups: SMALL CELL LUNG CANCER and NON-SMALL-CELL LUNG CARCINOMA.
A form of highly malignant lung cancer that is composed of small ovoid cells (SMALL CELL CARCINOMA).
A heterogeneous aggregate of at least three distinct histological types of lung cancer, including SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA; ADENOCARCINOMA; and LARGE CELL CARCINOMA. They are dealt with collectively because of their shared treatment strategy.
A quinazoline derivative and ANTINEOPLASTIC AGENT that functions as a PROTEIN KINASE INHIBITOR for EGFR associated tyrosine kinase. It is used in the treatment of NON-SMALL CELL LUNG CANCER.
Nuclear phosphoprotein encoded by the p53 gene (GENES, P53) whose normal function is to control CELL PROLIFERATION and APOPTOSIS. A mutant or absent p53 protein has been found in LEUKEMIA; OSTEOSARCOMA; LUNG CANCER; and COLORECTAL CANCER.
