The Combination Effect of Citicoline and Omega-3

The goal of this study is to determine the effects of Citicoline plus Omega-3 or Omega-3 alone versus placebo on attention in non-demented healthy older adults.

Little Flower Yoga for Kids: Evaluation of a Yoga and Mindfulness Program for Children With Increased Levels of Emotion Dysregulation and Inattention

An initial evaluation of Little Flower Yoga for Kids will be conducted in a small sample of 18-30 Kindergarten and First Grade students (3-5 per class) enrolled in Girls Preparatory Charte...

Dermacyd Tina Gel Sweet Flower - Photo Evaluation

The purpose of this study is to prove the absence of photo irritation and photo sensitivity potential of the product Dermacyd Tina Gel Sweet Flower.

Comparison Between Novel Flower-type Covered Stent and Conventional Covered Stent

The aim of this animal study is determining the technical feasibility of the novel flower-type covered self-expandable metal stent (F-CSEMS) and investigating whether the novel flower-type...

Phase I Drug-drug Interaction of Omega-3 and Atorvastatin

This study evaluates the safety and pharmacokinetic drug-drug interactions of omega-3 and atorvastatin in healthy male volunteers. Half of the participants will receive omega-3 for 16 days...

Association between community assemblage of flower colours and pollinator fauna: a comparison between Japanese and New Zealand alpine plant communities.

Flower colour plays a major role in the attraction and decision-making of pollinators. Different functional groups of pollinators tend to prefer different flower colours, and therefor may lead to diff...

Omega-3 fatty acids for the primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease.

Researchers have suggested that omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids from oily fish (long-chain omega-3 (LCn3), including eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)), as well as from pl...

Fat-1 Transgene is Associated with Improved Reproductive Outcomes.

High intake of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) has been associated with a variety of health benefits. However, the role of omega-3 PUFAs in female reproductive function is unclear, with st...

Hawkmoth flight in the unsteady wakes of flowers.

Flying animals maneuver and hover through environments where wind gusts and flower wakes produce unsteady flow. Although both flight maneuvers and aerodynamic mechanisms have been studied independentl...

Molecular mechanisms of omega-3 fatty acids in the migraine headache.

Migraine is a common chronic inflammatory neurological disease with the progressive and episodic course. Much evidence have shown a role of inflammation in the pathogenesis of migraine. Omega-3 fatty ...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

FATTY ACIDS which have the first unsaturated bond in the sixth position from the omega carbon. A typical American diet tends to contain substantially more omega-6 than OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS.

A neurotoxic peptide, which is a cleavage product (VIa) of the omega-Conotoxin precursor protein contained in venom from the marine snail, CONUS geographus. It is an antagonist of CALCIUM CHANNELS, N-TYPE.

Healthy People Programs are a set of health objectives to be used by governments, communities, professional organizations, and others to help develop programs to improve health. It builds on initiatives pursued over the past two decades beginning with the 1979 Surgeon General's Report, Healthy People, Healthy People 2000: National Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Objectives, and Healthy People 2010. These established national health objectives and served as the basis for the development of state and community plans. These are administered by the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP). Similar programs are conducted by other national governments.

A group of fatty acids, often of marine origin, which have the first unsaturated bond in the third position from the omega carbon. These fatty acids are believed to reduce serum triglycerides, prevent insulin resistance, improve lipid profile, prolong bleeding times, reduce platelet counts, and decrease platelet adhesiveness.

Peptide neurotoxins from the marine fish-hunting snails of the genus CONUS. They contain 13 to 29 amino acids which are strongly basic and are highly cross-linked by disulfide bonds. There are three types of conotoxins, omega-, alpha-, and mu-. OMEGA-CONOTOXINS inhibit voltage-activated entry of calcium into the presynaptic membrane and therefore the release of ACETYLCHOLINE. Alpha-conotoxins inhibit the postsynaptic acetylcholine receptor. Mu-conotoxins prevent the generation of muscle action potentials.
