The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy of ertapenem sodium (Invanz) in treatment of complicated urinary tract infections with respect to the proportion of patients with a favorable microbiological response at 5-9 days post therapy.
Allocation: Randomized, Control: Active Control, Endpoint Classification: Safety/Efficacy Study, Intervention Model: Parallel Assignment, Masking: Double Blind (Subject, Investigator), Primary Purpose: Treatment

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that MK0826 is comparable to Meropenem in the treatment of complicated Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) in adults.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability and efficacy of ertapenem sodium as initial therapy for the treatment of complicated urinary tract infections, including p...
A multicenter study to evaluate the effectiveness of ertapenem compared to ceftriaxone/metronidazole in treating certain abdominal infections that require surgery in adult patients.
To Evaluate the Treatment Effect of an Anti-Infective Agent for Complicated Infections
To collect clinical response data with the use of ertapenem in community acquired sepsis.
This study will compare the efficacy, safety and tolerability of intravenous ertapenem versus another intravenous antibiotic in the treatment of moderate to severe diabetic foot infection...
High salt consumption is a major risk factor for hypertension, and sodium homeostasis is regulated by both intestinal sodium absorption and urinary sodium excretion. Chronic caffeine intake has been r...
To explore the relationship between overnight urinary sodium to potassium ratio and the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD).A subsample of 10 percent of the participants (35-59 years old) from the Pe...
Although some earlier studies have indicated an association between dietary/urinary sodium and bone mass density (BMD), bone mass content (BMC), and the risk of osteoporosis (OS), findings are still c...
To monitor extrinsic stain formation over 24 weeks with twice-daily use of an anhydrous 0.454% SnF2 dentifrice containing 5% sodium tripolyphosphate (STP) ('Test'), compared to a standard fluoride den...
Why does the choice of dialysate sodium concentration remain controversial?
The choice of the ideal dialysate sodium concentration remains controversial. Most dialysis centers have a standard dialysate concentration. In theory, choosing a dialysate sodium concentration lower ...
Sodium Acetate
The trihydrate sodium salt of acetic acid, which is used as a source of sodium ions in solutions for dialysis and as a systemic and urinary alkalizer, diuretic, and expectorant.
Sodium, Dietary
Sodium or sodium compounds used in foods or as a food. The most frequently used compounds are sodium chloride or sodium glutamate.
Sodium Lactate
The sodium salt of racemic or inactive lactic acid. It is a hygroscopic agent used intravenously as a systemic and urinary alkalizer.
Nav1.5 Voltage-gated Sodium Channel
A voltage-gated sodium channel subtype that mediates the sodium ion PERMEABILITY of CARDIOMYOCYTES. Defects in the SCN5A gene, which codes for the alpha subunit of this sodium channel, are associated with a variety of CARDIAC DISEASES that result from loss of sodium channel function.
Sodium Isotopes
Stable sodium atoms that have the same atomic number as the element sodium, but differ in atomic weight. Na-23 is a stable sodium isotope.
