Comparative Study of Ropivacaine and Ropivacaine With Dexmeditomedine in TAP Blocks

Comparative study of Ropivacaine and Ropivacaine with dexmedetomidine in transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block for post-operative analgesia in patients undergoing Caesarean Section.

Analgesic Effect of Ropivacaine Plus Fentanyl vs Ropivacaine for Continuous 3-in-1 FNB After Total Knee Arthroplasty

The postoperative analgesic effect of the continuous 3-in-1 femoral nerve block (FNB) with ropivacaine/fentanyl or with ropivacaine were compared in total knee arthroplasty.

Effect of Local Infiltration Anesthesia With Ropivacaine on Postoperative Pain After Hip Hemiarthroplasty

At St.Olavs Hospital each year about 400 patients are treated for femoral neck fractures, 250 of them receiving hemiarthroplasty. Implementation of fast-track clinical pathways reduces mor...

Intraperitoneal Ropivacaine Nebulization for Pain Control After Laparoscopic Surgery

The purpose of this study is to assess if intraperitoneal nebulization of Ropivacaine 50 mg, 100 mg or 150 mg may prevent the use of morphine during the first day after laparoscopic chole...

Ropivacaine 0,2% Plus Dexamethasone Versus Ropivacaine 0,2% Plus Placebo in Modified Pectoral Block

To find out if dexamethasone used as adjuvant to ropivacaine, a long-lasting local anesthetic, prolongs the duration of modified pectoral nerve block in women undergoing breast surgery.

Ropivacaine inhibits the migration of esophageal cancer cells via sodium-channel-independent but prenylation-dependent inhibition of Rac1/JNK/paxillin/FAK.

The direct anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic effects of local anesthetics have been well documented in various cancers. However, whether local anesthetics affect cancer metastasis and their underly...

Volume of ropivacaine 0.2% and common peroneal nerve block duration: a randomised, double-blind cohort trial in healthy volunteers.

The volume-duration relationship using low concentrations of ropivacaine for peripheral nerve blocks is unknown, even though low concentrations of ropivacaine are increasingly used clinically. We inve...

Uterine contractility changes in a perfused swine uterus model induced by local anesthetics procaine, lidocaine, and ropivacaine.

Local anesthetics (LAs) are increasingly used as therapeutics due to their multiple molecular effects. They may be potential agents also in gynecology and reproductive medicine. The objective of this ...

Immediate postoperative pain control with ropivacaine following laparoscopic-assisted vaginal hysterectomy: A randomized double-blind pilot study.

Although laparoscopic hysterectomy, a worldwide popular surgery, ensures faster recovery and less postoperative pain than with laparotomic hysterectomy, immediate pain control still improving postoper...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Hip deformity in which the femoral neck leans forward resulting in a decrease in the angle between femoral neck and its shaft. It may be congenital often syndromic, acquired, or developmental.

A groin hernia occurring inferior to the inguinal ligament and medial to the FEMORAL VEIN and FEMORAL ARTERY. The femoral hernia sac has a small neck but may enlarge considerably when it enters the subcutaneous tissue of the thigh. It is caused by defects in the ABDOMINAL WALL.

Fractures of the FEMUR HEAD; the FEMUR NECK; (FEMORAL NECK FRACTURES); the trochanters; or the inter- or subtrochanteric region. Excludes fractures of the acetabulum and fractures of the femoral shaft below the subtrochanteric region (FEMORAL FRACTURES).

Hip deformity in which the angle between the femoral neck and its shaft is increased. It may be congenital, acquired, or developmental.

Implantable fracture fixation devices attached to bone fragments with screws to bridge the fracture gap and shield the fracture site from stress as bone heals. (UMDNS, 1999)
