Efficacy and Safety of Masitinib (AB1010) in Comparison to Imatinib in Patients With Gastro-intestinal Stromal Tumour

The objective of the study is to compare the efficacy and safety of masitinib to imatinib in patients with gastro-intestinal stromal tumour (GIST) in first line medical treatment.

A Study of Regorafenib in Refractory Advanced Gastro-Oesophageal Cancer

Advanced Gastro-oesophageal Carcinoma (AGOC) has a poor prognosis, and there is no established standard treatment following failure of first and second line chemotherapy. Regorafenib (BAY ...

Activity of Masitinib (AB1010) in Mild to Moderate Alzheimer's Disease

This phase 2 study was designed to evaluate the activity of oral masitinib (AB1010) administered at 2 dose levels during 24 weeks to patients with mild to moderate confirmed Alzheimer's t...

Treatment of Patients With Everolimus and Imatinib Mesylate Who Have Progressive Gastro Intestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST) and Are Resistant to Imatinib Mesylate

The purpose of this multicenter, single-arm, Simon two-stage, phase II trial is to determine the efficacy and safety of everolimus in combination with Imatinib mesylate in patients with pr...

Autologous Muscle Derived Cells for Gastro-Intestinal Repair (AMDC-GIR) for Tongue Dysphagia

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the safety of Autologous Muscle Derived Cells for Gastro-Intestinal Repair (AMDC-GIR) during the 12 months following treatment of tongue ...

Intestinal occlusion by stenotic neuroendocrine tumours of left colon and concomitant association with small bowel gastrointestinal stromal tumours: A case report.

The association between Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumours (GIST) and Neuroendocrine Tumours (NET) is very rare. These tumours have various clinical expressions and sometimes are asymptomatic. Synchrono...

Oral delivery of the anti-TNFα domain antibody, V565, results in high intestinal and faecal concentrations with minimal systemic exposure in cynomolgus monkeys.

V565 is a novel oral anti-TNFα domain antibody being developed for topical treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients. Protein engineering rendered the molecule resistant to intestinal pr...

Mesenchymal stromal cell therapy in intestinal diseases.

The advent of cell therapies, mainly based on the use of mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs), represents a great step forward in the treatment of immune-mediated conditions. Here, we focus on those intes...

Comparative characterization of protein and lipid fractions from camel and cow milk, their functionality, antioxidant and antihypertensive properties upon simulated gastro-intestinal digestion.

In-depth characterization of protein and lipid fractions from cow and camel milk (four breeds; CM-1 to 4), their functional and thermal properties and bioactivity upon simulated gastro-intestinal dige...

Cytomegalovirus promotes intestinal macrophage-mediated mucosal inflammation through induction of Smad7.

Intestinal macrophages in healthy human mucosa are profoundly down-regulated for inflammatory responses (inflammation anergy) due to stromal TGF-β inactivation of NF-κB. Paradoxically, in cytomegalo...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Neoplasms of the endometrial stroma that sometimes involve the MYOMETRIUM. These tumors contain cells that may closely or remotely resemble the normal stromal cells. Endometrial stromal neoplasms are divided into three categories: (1) benign stromal nodules; (2) low-grade stromal sarcoma, or endolymphatic stromal myosis; and (3) malignant endometrial stromal sarcoma (SARCOMA, ENDOMETRIAL STROMAL).

Alkylating antineoplastic agent used especially in bladder neoplasms. It is toxic to hair follicles, gastro-intestinal tract, and vasculature.

A genus of bacteria found in the reproductive organs, intestinal tract, and oral cavity of animals and man. Some species are pathogenic.

A condition caused by the lack of intestinal PERISTALSIS or INTESTINAL MOTILITY without any mechanical obstruction. This interference of the flow of INTESTINAL CONTENTS often leads to INTESTINAL OBSTRUCTION. Ileus may be classified into postoperative, inflammatory, metabolic, neurogenic, and drug-induced.

The phenyl ester of CARBENICILLIN that, upon oral administration, is broken down in the intestinal mucosa to the active antibacterial. It is used for urinary tract infections.
