The participants included in this observational study will be drawn from a research database containing claims and enrollment data for members of a large, geographically diverse US health plan. The objective of this study is to estimate the rate of serious infections, tuberculosis, malignancies, and other outcomes in rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis patients treated with golimumab, anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) biologics, non-anti-TNF biol...
This study is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group comparison study in rheumatoid arthritis participants inadequately responding to biologics.
Preliminary data suggest that up-regulation of Interleukin -17 (IL-17) and the T-helper 17 (Th17) pathway occurs in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients on anti-Tumour Necrosis Factor (TNF) therapy who demonstrated an incomplete clinical response. A deeper understanding of this is required in order to determine whether IL-17 or the Th17 pathway is a valid target for intervention in this population to improve response outcome. The study objective is to observe biologic naïve RA ...
"RUN-CD" is an investigator initiated "Non interventional Trial" on biologics in Crohn´s Disease (CD) patients in Germany with a prospective documentation of effectiveness in induction and maintenance therapy of biologics, especially of Ustekinumab, with a special interest on predictors of long-term responses and favorable disease outcome and documentation of severe side effects caused by the therapy with biologics.
To estimate the real-world effectiveness of approved biologics in subjects with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis who are either starting or switching biologic medication.
The investigators want to identify that whether PD-1/PD-L1 pathway will change in human sepsis, and whether PD-1/PD-L1 pathway play an important role in sepsis induced immunosuppression.
This study on biologics (Vedolizumab/anti-TNF) in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients in Germany extends the prospective documentation of efficacy in induction and maintenance therapy of anti-TNF to the use of Vedolizumab with a particular interest in the construction of a multifactorial model to predict long-term responses and favorable disease outcome or to predict severe side effects caused by therapy with biologics. Little data are available on the ef...
The kynurenine pathway is involved in hyperalgesia. This pathway is activated by inflammation. Ketamine would interact with the kynurenine pathway and inflammation. Our working hypotheses are: the clinical effects of ketamine on neuropathic pain are greater in the presence of systemic inflammation and the mechanism of action involves an interaction on the kynurenine pathway. Study design: Interventional randomized placebo-controlled clinical trial. Main goals: ...
The receptor tyrosine kinase AXL is a pathway that plays a crucial role in metastasis and chemoresistance. Overexpression of AXL has been associated with metastasis, recurrence, and chemoresistance in various cancer including ovarian cancer[16, 17]}. Targeting AXL is an attractive approach because it is overexpressed among patients with epithelial ovarian cancer and strongly associated with advanced stages, high grade cancer and shorter median survival time. AVB-S6-500 is a pot...
Hippo-YAP pathway is a newly discovered pathway controlling the growth, and plays important roles in the regulation of stem cell function and tissue regeneration. Previously we found that a higher expression of YAP in NP, and LPS was able to activate the hippo-YAP pathway in NESCs. Thus, we hypothesize that the aberrant proliferation and differentiation of NESCs could be regulated via the hippo-YAP pathway.
The aim of this study is to examine the efficacy and adverse events in the following 3 groups in rheumatoid arthritis patients: 1. Baricitinib treatment for 12 months 2. Biologics treatment for 12 months 3. Tofacitinib treatment for 12 months
This phase II Pediatric MATCH trial studies how well ulixertinib works in treating patients with solid tumors that have spread to other places in the body (advanced), non-Hodgkin lymphoma, or histiocytic disorders that have a genetic alteration (mutation) in a signaling pathway called MAPK. A signaling pathway consists of a group of molecules in a cell that control one or more cell functions. Genes in the MAPK pathway are frequently mutated in many types of cancers. Ulixertinib...
This study involves review and analysis of disease activity in patients with rheumatoid arthritis who where treated with either conventional DMARDs (Disease Modifying Antirheumatic Drugs) or Biologics and have two existing, consecutive radiographs (x-ray images) of hand and feet taken as part of routine treatment monitoring within a time interval of 12 to 36 months.
Compliance to the clinical pathway, postoperative complication and total cost of the hospitalisation of patients undergoing elective cholecystectomy for symptomatic cholecystolithiasis were collected over two different periods: using a clinical pathway in form of a paper based check-list (group 1, n=118) or a clinical pathway integrated into the paper based medical treatment and nursing documentation (group 2, n=123). Outcome measures were compliance of the clinical pathway and...
More-2-Eat Phase 2 provides the opportunity to extend the implementation of the Integrated Nutrition Pathway to a total of 10 hospitals and more than 20 medical/surgical units. Building on the success of More-2-Eat Phase 1, key components of this implementation study will be a registry for self-managed data entry and reports and a community of practice to support implementation of nutrition screening at admission to hospital, subjective global assessment to diagnose and triage ...
Rotator cuff surgery is mostly performed on an outpatient basis, and many patients still experience moderate to severe pain after surgery, despite the use of regional anesthesia and opioids. The specific aim is to determine whether a comprehensive pathway that includes a well-defined regional technique and multimodal analgesia will reduce the worst pain with movement 0-48 hours after block placement compared to the current standard practice. This is a 'before and after' study. ...
The aim of this study is to compare two postoperative recovery pathways namely, enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) pathway and conventional recovery pathway after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy with respect to outcomes including hospital stay, postoperative pain and other postoperative outcomes.
This is a phase 1 study (the first step in testing a new drug or combination, to see how safe the drug and/or combination are) of investigational agent BYL719 in patients with locally advanced head and neck cancer (LA-SCCHN) in combination with standard radiation and chemotherapy (cisplatin). BYL719 is a new drug that is able to bind (attach to) and block a protein called PI3K-alpha. PI3K-alpha is part of an important pathway called EGFR/PI3K/Akt. A pathway is a series of ...
