At present, less than 50% of patients with known hypertension are adequately controlled. If BP control could be improved, significant decreases in cardiovascular morbidity and mortality would occur. The purpose of this study is to conduct a randomi...
The increasing awareness of the importance of palliative care has led, in Israel, to the 2005 Law for the Rights of Persons with Terminal Illness. Still, problems of accessibility to palliative care remain unresolved. The use of e-health services is likely to expand the ability of the medical, psychosocial and nursing staff to reach patients who are either living in the periphery, are unable to make clinic visits or whose family members are housebound in order to be caregivers...
Meningiomas account for 20% of primary adult brain tumors, occurring at an annual incidence of 6 per 100,000 (Louis, Scheithauer et al. 2000). Complete surgical resection is the treatment of choice but may not possible when the tumor invades critical structures (e.g., skull base, sagittal sinus) (Mirimanoff, Dosoretz et al. 1985; al-Rodhan and Laws 1990; Al-Rodhan and Laws 1991; Newman 1994; De Monte 1995; Levine, Buchanan et al. 1999; Barnett, Suh et al. 2000; Ragel and Jensen...

We hypothesize that cigarette constituent messages will increase intention to quit compared to messages about littering cigarettes (the control). We also hypothesize that constituent messages that include FDA source and quit information will increase intention to quit compared to messages without that information.

Two of AHRQ 's consumer-focused guides, "Pills for Type 2 Diabetes" and "Premixed Insulin for Type 2 Diabetes" could be of great use to underserved ethnic and racial minority adults. The presentation of content and delivery mechanisms of these Guides, however, needs to be modified to increase their use and impact among these difficult-to-reach populations. To achieve this goal, a long-standing collaboration among African American and Latino community organizations, health care...
