Data was extracted from the publications on PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library.A traditional meta-analysis, subgroup analysis, and heterogeneity was conducted on the extracted data.
RATIONALE: Genetic studies may help in understanding the genetic processes involved in the development of some types of cancer. PURPOSE: Genetic trial to study the genes of patients who have an inherited urologic (genitourinary) malignancy (cancer).
Objective: The investigators aim to evaluate the impact of a " limitations " section in systematic review's abstract on results' interpretation by readers. Design: Randomized ratio 1:1 controlled trial with two parallel arms. Participants will be invited to participate in an online survey. Participants: Eligible participants are corresponding authors of randomized controlled trial published between 2010 and 2012 and referenced in pubmed Intervention: The investigators ...
The use of vitamin and mineral supplementation has historically been to treat and prevent micronutrient deficiencies. In recent years, however, and with their widespread use, the interest has shifted toward a possible role in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases. The investigators will review and perform meta-analyses of vitamin and mineral supplementation trials in relation to cardiovascular disease. Restenosis is still an issue after endovascular revascularization for femoropopliteal occlusive disease. One approach to reduce the rates of restenosis and reintervention is local application of Paclitaxel with drug-coated balloon angioplasty. The purpose is to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized-controlled trials comparing on Drug-Coated Balloon angioplasty (DCB) vs. Plain Old Balloon Angioplasty (POBA) in de-novo femoropopliteal disease.
This study evaluates the short- and long-term effects on psychological wellbeing and health-related behaviours of the updated version of a universal school-based program called Diario della Salute (DDS-2) in Italian students aged 11-13 years.
RATIONALE: The identification of gene mutations in young patients with pleuropulmonary blastoma syndrome may allow doctors to better understand the genetic processes involved in the development of some types of cancer, and may also help doctors identify patients who are at risk for cancer. PURPOSE: This research study studies gene mutations in samples from young patients with pleuropulmonary blastoma syndrome at risk for developing cancer.
The primary objective is to evaluate the benefit of the SmartDelay™ algorithm in patients with a prolonged RV-LV interval.
This protocol is for a series of comparative effectiveness and safety analyses within periodically updated cohorts of patients initiating linagliptin, other DPP-4 inhibitors, and other oral hypoglycemic medications, followed longitudinally for the occurrence of a variety of health outcomes. Serum cholesterol is a major modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease, which despite considerable reduction in prevalence, remains the leading cause of premature mortality worldwide. Although LDL-C continues to be recognized as the primary therapeutic target, accumulating evidence suggests that alternative lipid parameters, non-HDL-C and apoB, may provide predictive value beyond that of LDL-C alone, in most population categories.
