Considering the importance assumed by follicular microenvironment for a proper oocyte development, this study is a prospective observational clinical trial which aims to evaluate whether the embryo blastocyst quality may be affected by different Myo-inositol (MI) and D-chiro-inositol (DCI) levels in the follicular fluid (FF) of the aspired oocytes. The study includes egg donors and egg receiving couples participating in the oocyte donation program. MI/DCI is calculated in FF an...
This pilot study was a randomized, placebo-controlled, clinical trial to measure changes in blood and urine levels of inositol in premature infants at high risk for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) following a single intravenous dose of inositol. Based on previous studies, the premise is that maintaining inositol concentrations similar to those occurring naturally in utero will reduce the rates of ROP and bronchopulmonary dysplasia in premature infants. The objective was to eva...
The aim of this study is to analyze the metabolic profiles in women with PCOS before and after 3 months of therapy with a combination of myo-inositol, D-chiro-inositol and glucomannan, and compare these data with a group of healthy control women.
PCOS patients are initially treated with 2 g myo-inositol and 0.2 mg folic acid, two times per day by oral route, for three months. Among them, the subjects who have not ovulated despite this treatment are administered with 2g myo-inositol and 0.2 mg folic acid plus 50 mg α-lactalbumin for three months. Most of them improve and achieve ovulation. Therefore, the combination of α-lactalbumin with myo-inositol allows to get a significant result in the treatment of PCOS patients.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether myo-inositol and melatonin, or myo-inositol alone, or melatonin alone, are effective in normalizing irregular bleeding and anovulatory cycles in pre-menopausal women.
The purpose of this cohort post market registry is to collect data and create a global database on use of embolization devices and embolization procedures outcome. The data collected in the cohort will serve a scientific purpose to acquire better insight in embolization procedures. This will be achieved by publications in Scientific Journals and by presentations at scientific meetings. Additionally it will support the industry on creating a better overview of the products used ...
Myo-Inositol is classified as a member of the vitamin B complex. It is a constituent of living cells and is widespread in many food. It is involved in a number of biological processes, including insulin signal transduction, resulting in modulating insulin sensitivity. From literature, the investigators know that myo-inositol positively affects insulin resistance in polycystic ovary syndrome patients restoring spontaneous ovarian activity. So the investigators hypothesize that t...
This is an open trial which seeks to determine safety and tolerability of using inositol for children and adolescents with bipolar disorder and comorbid anxiety disorders with exploration of efficacy and dose response.
RATIONALE: Studying samples of tissue in the laboratory from patients with bronchial dysplasia receiving inositol may help doctors understand the effect of inositol on biomarkers. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying tumor marker levels in biopsy specimens from current or former smokers with bronchial dysplasia treated with inositol.
RATIONALE: Chemoprevention is the use of certain drugs to keep cancer from forming. The use of inositol may prevent lung cancer. It is not yet known whether inositol is more effective than a placebo in preventing lung cancer in smokers with bronchial dysplasia. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial is studying inositol to see how well it works compared with a placebo in preventing lung cancer in current or former smokers with bronchial dysplasia
Cryo AF Global Registry a prospective, global, multi-center, observational Post-Market Registry
Myo-Inositol is classified as a member of the vitamin B complex. It is a constituent of living cells and is widespread in many food. It is involved in a number of biological processes, including insulin signal transduction, resulting in modulating insulin sensitivity. One hundred post-menopausal women from 50 to 60 years old, affected by metabolic syndrome (criteria are described in NIH ATP III) will be randomized into two groups: 50 treated with myo-inositol 2 g twice per day ...
This study aims to compare the efficacy of three therapies for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients: one, conventional drug based on Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) 2017 and Chinese Medical Association Guidelines; another, acupuncture, an important part of traditional Chinese Medicine; and finally, the combination of conventional drug and acupuncture, and then determine which therapy is the most suitable for patients with COPD.
Myoinositol (MI) and D-chiro inositol (DCI) are isomeric forms of inositol that were found to have insulin-like properties, acting as second messengers in the insulin intracellular pathway; both of these molecules are involved in the increasing insulin sensitivity of different tissues to improve metabolic and ovulatory functions. Myoinositol is the predominant form that can be found in nature and food. Inositol has been mainly used as a supplement in treating several pathologi...
This study will examine tissue specimens from patients participating in a trial of high-dose myo-inositol to prevent lung cancer. The trial, conducted at the British Columbia Cancer Agency-Vancouver Cancer Center (BCCA-VCC), includes people who have pre-cancerous changes in the air passages of their lungs. The BCCA-VCC trial was designed to determine side effects of taking large amounts of the food supplement myo-inositol for longer than a month and if the supplement can help ...
