Mucosal Impedance Balloon in Diagnosis and Treatment of Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)

This study will evaluate the role the balloon mucosal impedance may have in diagnosing and monitoring the patients with Eosinophilic Esophagitis. We will compare the results of the balloon mucosal impedance in patients with Eosinophilic esophagitis and controls.

An Open-Label Trial of Losartan Potassium in Participants With Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)

The purpose of this study is to test the safety and effectiveness of Losartan potassium in subjects with Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE), both those with a connective tissue disorder (CTD) and those without a CTD.

Efficacy and Safety Study of Reslizumab to Treat Eosinophilic Esophagitis in Subjects Aged 5 to 18 Years

This trial will study three doses of reslizumab versus placebo in children with Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EE). The objectives of the trial will be to study the effectiveness of reslizumab in improving the clinical signs and symptoms and reducing esophageal eosinophils as well as assessing the safety profile compared to placebo.

Intravenous Mepolizumab In Children With Eosinophilic Esophagitis

This study will evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of intravenous mepolizumab in pediatric subjects with eosinophilic esophagitis.

Efficacy, Safety, and Pharmacokinetics of APT-1011 in Subjects With Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)

Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is an inflammatory disease of the esophagus, characterized by eosinophilic infiltration and gastrointestinal symptoms. Swallowed, topically acting corticosteroids, such as fluticasone, appear to be effective in resolving acute clinical and pathological features of EoE. APT-1011 is an orally disintegrating tablet (ODT) formulation of fluticasone propionate. This study is designed to compare the efficacy and safety of APT-1011 with placebo in adult...

Continuation Study With Budesonide Oral Suspension (BOS) for Adolescent and Adult Subjects With Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)

This is a continuation study of Budesonide Oral Suspension (BOS) in adults and adolescents with Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE) who have completed participation in the SHP621-302 extension study. The purpose of this study is to see if BOS is safe and well tolerated over the long-term in adolescents and adults with EoE.

Use of Esophageal String Test to Understand Symptoms, Inflammation, and Function in Eosinophilic Esophagitis

Presently, the only method available to monitor disease activity in Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE) is endoscopy with pathological review of biopsies. The overall goal of this study is to determine the ability of the Esophageal String Test (EST), a minimally invasive capsule based technology, to measure disease activity in children with EoE. Additionally, to determine esophageal distensibility in children presenting with EoE by using the EndoFLIP (functional luminal imaging prob...

Prospective Analysis of Eosinophilic Esophagitis in Patients Presenting With Dysphagia

This is a prospective descriptive cross sectional study to determine the percentage of patients presenting with dysphagia who are found to have eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) and to establish which presenting factors warrant esophageal biopsies. We hypothesize that a greater than expected percentage of patients who are biopsies will have histologic changes consistent with EE.

A Placebo- Controlled Study in Adolescents and Adults With Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE) Measuring Histologic Response and Determine if Reduction in Dysphagia is Achieved

A study in adolescents and adults with eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) to measure the histologic response and determine if any reduction in dysphagia is achieved.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of three doses of fluticasone propionate oral (viscous suspension) on changes of eosinophilic infiltration in esophageal biopsies.

Fluticasone Versus Esomeprazole to Treat Eosinophilic Esophagitis

The purpose of this study is to assess the clinical efficacy of proton pump inhibitors in comparison to aerosolized swallowed steroids for the treatment of eosinophilic esophagitis (EE). EE is an increasingly recognized disorder that has been associated with dysphagia and food impaction. The presence of anatomical abnormalities in the esophagus such as longitudinal furrows, corrugated rings and a narrow caliber esophagus with friable mucosa are classic endoscopic findings. Diag...

a4b7 Integrin in Eosinophilic Esophagitis

The overall objective of this preclinical study is to further the investigators mechanistic understanding of the role that the α4β7 and mucosal addressin cell adhesion molecule (MAdCAM-1) pathway plays in mediating eosinophil recruitment in EoE. To accomplish this, the investigators aim to (1) determine the baseline and dynamic patterns of α4β7 integrin expression on circulating and tissue eosinophils in EoE and in the setting of non-EoE esophageal eosinophilia (e.g., ref...

EoE Food Desensitization

This is a single-center, prospective, pilot clinical trial in which children ages 5-17 years with eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) who have a known food that triggers EoE flares receive oral desensitization with that specific food antigen, followed by reintroduction of that food into the diet.

Off Label Use of Infliximab in Adult Patients With Severe Eosinophilic Esophagitis

Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EE) is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the esophagus with a constantly increasing prevalence. It has been demonstrated that the expression of the cytokine TNF-α is up regulated in EE and that this pro-inflammatory cytokine is highly expressed by the keratinocytes of the esophageal epithelium in patients with active EE. Furthermore, it has been shown that TNF-α is capable to induce eotaxin-3 production in keratinocytes. These results suggest that T...

Comparison of Esomeprazole to Aerosolized, Swallowed Fluticasone for Eosinophilic Esophagitis

Eosinophilic esophagitis (EE) is a recently recognized entity. It has been thought to be related to both allergies and acid reflux. There have been reports that both swallowed, aerosolized steroids and proton pump inhibitors have been effective treatments. The researchers propose to directly compare the efficacy of aerosolized fluticasone to esomeprazole in the treatment of eosinophilic esophagitis. The hypothesis is that aerosolized fluticasone (Flovent) will be more effec...
