Hypothesis The primary question the investigators propose to answer is whether all patients undergoing PCI with stent deployment who receive chewed ticagrelor will demonstrate more rapid drug absorption and decreased platelet reactivity as compared to integral pill form 1 hour after drug administration.
Systematic reviews evaluating the effectiveness of supervised exercise therapies commonly conclude that, to date, there is no evidence to support the superiority of one form of exercise over another. Randomized controlled trials to date included mostly trunk strengthening exercises (e.g. bird dog, plank) and there is no evidence about supervised, individually graded integral movement therapy program for patients with chronic low back pain (CLBP). The research design is a...
The purpose of this study is to determine if it is better an integral strategy, with a m-health system, when used in addition to a supervised treatment, versus the use of the m-health system alone, to improve the immediate and long-term Quality of Life of breast cancer survivors.
The main objective of this study is to show that the variation of the subaortic velocity time integral after a mini test by filling 100 cc of normal saline over 1 minute (ΔITV100) is predictive of response to filling (defined as an increase in aortic velocity time integral measured by transthoracic ultrasound over 15% after administration of 500 cc of normal saline over 15 minutes) in non-ventilated shock patients.
To compare two intrauterine systems in order to avoid complications originating from short pregnancy interval and undesired pregnancies in the early postpartum period.
The purpose of this clinical trial is to evaluate various commercially available ultrasound systems and to identify imaging parameters to be used with these systems (along with the contrast agent PB127) as well as to further evaluate the safety of PB127.
The objective of the present study was to compare the ability of acute physiology and chronic health evaluation (APACHE) scoring systems with the combination of an anthropometric variable score "adductor pollicis muscle (APM) thickness" to the APACHE systems in predicting mortality in the ICU. Three hundred and four patients enrolled in this prospective observational study. The APM thickness in dominant hand and APACHE II and III scores were measured for each patient upon admis...
Available pharmacological and psychotherapeutic treatments are not effective for the treatment of cognitive symptoms of major depressive disorder (MDD). More recent studies have described that functional disability and the indirect costs of MDD (e.g., sick leaves at work, decreased productivity, ...) are related to persistent cognitive deficits. Some programs of cognitive rehabilitation and cognitive training (developed for other pathologies) have been tested, but the results a...
The centre for Medically-Assisted Procreation (MAP) of Dijon CHU has two high-technology embryo culture systems, with incubation characteristics that are potentially superior to those provided by classical culture systems. Indeed, these two systems, available in only two MAP centres in France, make it possible to maintain a stable temperature and gaseous environment during the in-vitro development of the embryos. It is necessary to observe the development of the embryos to det...
Introduction: In the recent past, medical training systems using virtual reality (VR) have been introduced to neurorehabilitation to train motor function deficits in patients. The usage of VR-based training systems is based on the evidence of neuroplasticity, which is responsible for recovery of patients suffering from motor dysfunction. Such systems are increasingly used to encourage purposeful limb movements in a VR environment and its efficacy has been found comparable with ...
Background: Tinnitus is a common chronic health condition that affects 10% to 20% of the general population. Among severe sufferers it causes disability in various areas. As a result of the tinnitus quality of life is often impaired. At present there is no cure or uniformly effective treatment, leading to fragmentized and costly tinnitus care. Evidence suggests an integral multidisciplinary approach in treating tinnitus is effective. The main objective of this study is to exami...
A methodical evaluation of new CE-labelled Phonak Hearing Systems is intended to be conducted on hard of hearing participants to grant quality control prior to product launch. The aim of the investigation series is to ensure zero-defect overall performance of the new hearing systems as well as maximum benefit for the participant with the devices in comparison to previously outstanding Phonak Hearing Systems.
Evaluation of Inducible Monomorphic Ventricular Tachycardia (MMVT) in Patients With St. Jude Medical Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) Systems or Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Defibrillation (CRT-D) Systems.
The intent of this observational study is to understand the role of non-invasive programmed stimulation (NIPS) to induce substrate based MMVT in patients receiving new St. Jude Medical ICD or CRT-D systems.
This pilot trial studies how well systems support mapping works in guiding self-management in stage I-III colorectal cancer survivors. Systems support mapping helps participants to see complex self-management activities on paper, which makes them more actionable. Behavioral interventions, such as systems support mapping, may help colorectal cancer survivors facilitate self-awareness, create motivation for behavior change, and guide self-management.
Several risk assessment scoring systems have been proposed to assess the therapeutic response and predict long term prognosis in ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA)-treated primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) patients, in order to risk stratify PBC patients and guide their management. However there scoring systems have not been fully validated in Chinese population. This study is going to compare the prognostic ability of these criteria, validate the overseas scoring systems, develop and...
Participants will perform blood glucose monitoring (BGM) over the course of 14 days and, in parallel, wear continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems. Because current CGM systems typically achieve a lower level of analytical accuracy than BGM systems, participants will perform at least 5 blood glucose (BG) measurements per day. In addition, CGM systems are used to obtain minimally-invasive high-frequency glucose measurements to fill the gaps between BG measurements.
Optimizing the prevention of mother-to-child HIV transmission cascade minimizes drop offs from one step to the next to maximize the benefits of antiretroviral therapy on maternal health and pediatric survival, growth, and development. This proposal scales-up a health systems intervention (the systems analysis and improvement approach - SAIA) that packages systems engineering methods (including cascade analysis, flow mapping, and continuous quality improvement) and was previousl...
Hypothesis 1 (H1): Epicardial biventricular pacing is a safe and feasible method of pacing in young patients. Over the last two years, physicians at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta have been implanting epicardial BiV pacing systems in children determined to have ventricular dyssynchrony caused by numerous cardiac diagnoses. The decision to use these pacing systems was based on the knowledge gained by adult studies. Since the use of these pacing systems in the pediatric ...

The aim of the investigation series is to ensure zero-defect overall performance of the new hearing systems as well as maximum benefit for the participant with the devices in comparison to previously outstanding Phonak Hearing Systems and to equivalent competitor devices.
Background: Few studies have investigated the difference of bacterial contamination between conventional reused ventilator systems and disposable closed ventilator-suction systems. The aim of this study was to investigate the bacterial contamination rates of the reused and disposable ventilation systems, and the association between system disconnection and bacterial contamination of ventilator systems. Methods: The enrolled patients used a conventional reused ventilator system...
The purpose of this study is to develop computational methods for cross-comparison of muscle composition measurements in three laboratory ultrasound systems.
Sexuality is considered one of the pillars of quality of life, an integral part of the personality of each individual. Being a basic human being need, it cannot be separated from other aspects of life. For several centuries and until recently, sexuality was considered the "lower instincts" expression related only to the sexual act. Sex is associated with "reproduction" of the sexual energy. On the other hand, the exercise of sexuality includes various factors such as the buildi...
