The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy of Biologics + Methotrexate with Biologics + Tacrolimus measured by the disease activity score 28 (DAS28) erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) scores. The study will also assess the safety of the combinations.
The patients included in this observational study will be drawn from a research database containing claims and enrollment data for members of a large, geographically diverse US health plan. The objective of this study is to estimate the rate of serious infections, tuberculosis, malignancies, and other outcomes in psoriasis patients treated with ustekinumab, anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) biologics, non-anti-TNF biologics, or systemic non-biological treatments.
The participants included in this observational study will be drawn from a research database containing claims and enrollment data for members of a large, geographically diverse US health plan. The objective of this study is to estimate the rate of serious infections, tuberculosis, malignancies, and other outcomes in rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis patients treated with golimumab, anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) biologics, non-anti-TNF biol...
Clopidogrel (also known as Plavix) is used commonly in patients to prevent heart attacks and conditions caused by blood clots. Although clopidogrel works in many individuals, some people do not respond as well to this drug. The variation in treatment response may be linked to genetics. This study will examine the effects of clopidogrel in a population whose genes are well known in order to determine the role that genes play in the response to various clopidogrel maintenance d...
Based on the motor learning theories, it is hypothesized that bench-model training will allow junior residents to be more interactive than trainees lacking similar active hands-on training.
This application seeks renewed support for MH59803, "Dopaminergic substrates of startle gating across species," to extend a clear path of "bench-to-bedside" progress towards a critical paradigm shift in therapeutic models for schizophrenia (SZ) and schizoaffective disorder, depressed type (SZA): the use of Pharmacologic Augmentation of Cognitive Therapies (PACTs). This novel therapeutic strategy for SZ/SZA directly addresses the need for more effective treatments for this devas...
This registry on Tofacitinib and biologics (anti-integrin/anti-TNF) in the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC) patients in Germany will extend the prospective documentation of safety issues and efficacy in induction and maintenance therapy of Tofacitinib (Xeljanz®) in addition to other biologics used in Germany with a particular interest in predictors of long-term responses and favorable disease outcome or to predict severe side effects caused by therapy with Januskinase(JAK)...
"RUN-CD" is an investigator initiated "Non interventional Trial" on biologics in Crohn´s Disease (CD) patients in Germany with a prospective documentation of effectiveness in induction and maintenance therapy of biologics, especially of Ustekinumab, with a special interest on predictors of long-term responses and favorable disease outcome and documentation of severe side effects caused by the therapy with biologics.
Rationale/hypothesis: Moderate-to-severe psoriasis can be treated with biologics. Objective To investigate whether the dose of biologics can be reduced in patients with psoriasis with stable disease. Study design: A pragmatic, multicentre, randomized, controlled, non-inferiority study with cost-effectiveness analysis. Study population: Patients with disease remission using normal dose of biologics. Intervention: 120 patients will be randomized into two groups: (1) dos...
"A Study to assess the Opinion of Doctors, Nurses and Key informants regarding Independent Nurse Midwifery Practitioner at selected Hospitals and Colleges of nursing in Haryana."
Patient case presentations during ward rounds can take place at the bedside or outside the room. The best approach to patient case presentation is yet unclear. Thus, the overall aim of this multicenter, randomized-controlled study is to test the hypothesis that outside the room patient case presentation compared to bedside patient case presentation results in better outcomes across different dimensions including patient understanding and perception of quality of care as well as...
In many sub-Saharan African countries, the scale-up of lifelong antiretroviral treatment (ART) to all pregnant and breastfeeding women under Option B+ has the potential to radically improve maternal health and reduce mother-to-child HIV transmission. However, loss to HIV care after delivery has emerged as an important threat to the hoped-for impact of Option B+. Evidence suggests that one important contributor to postpartum loss to HIV care is perinatal depression (PND). In non...
To estimate the real-world effectiveness of approved biologics in subjects with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis who are either starting or switching biologic medication.
Researchers are studying the behaviors in teachers of invasive bedside procedures to improve the safety of invasive bedside procedure in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The aim of this study is to examine the efficacy and adverse events in the following 3 groups in rheumatoid arthritis patients: 1. Baricitinib treatment for 12 months 2. Biologics treatment for 12 months 3. Tofacitinib treatment for 12 months
ICU-associated weakness is a common experience for people following a critical illness. It is associated with important patient and system-relevant outcomes. Diagnosing ICU-associated weakness can be challenging because making the diagnosis relies on volitional participation in strength testing by the patient in a very ill population that is often sedated or restrained. This study proposes to test if bedside ultrasound of tibialis anterior (a non-invasive test that doesn...
The objective of this study is to provide Maraviroc on a compassionate use basis to antiretroviral treatment experienced patients infected with CCR5-tropic HIV-1 with urgent unmet medical needs and who, in the opinion of the physician, require Maraviroc to form a viable regimen.
This study involves review and analysis of disease activity in patients with rheumatoid arthritis who where treated with either conventional DMARDs (Disease Modifying Antirheumatic Drugs) or Biologics and have two existing, consecutive radiographs (x-ray images) of hand and feet taken as part of routine treatment monitoring within a time interval of 12 to 36 months.
This study on biologics (Vedolizumab/anti-TNF) in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients in Germany extends the prospective documentation of efficacy in induction and maintenance therapy of anti-TNF to the use of Vedolizumab with a particular interest in the construction of a multifactorial model to predict long-term responses and favorable disease outcome or to predict severe side effects caused by therapy with biologics. Little data are available on the ef...
This study evaluates the frailty and the health adverse events in the population of the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging. It will be used the Centre of Excellence Self-Administered questionnaire (CESAM) which assesses frailty of older adults by providing a score and a of frailty in 4 levels.
This study is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group comparison study in rheumatoid arthritis participants inadequately responding to biologics.
The Internal Medicine Department of Haut-Lévêque Hospital (Pr E LAZARO, Pr JL PELLEGRIN, Pr JF VIALLARD) was accredited in 2017 by the Ministry of Health as a Constitutive Reference Center for Autoimmune Cytopenia. The investigators wish to launch new research projects in autoimmune cytopenia and propose a translational and fundamental research based on collaboration between the clinical department, the biological resource center and the CNRS and INSERM research units ("Bedsi...
Our hypothesis is that there will be a decrease in internal jugular venous flow in the park bench position when compared to the supine position. There will also be a change in blood flow between the right and left internal jugular veins in the park bench position. In particular, there will be a greater reduction of flow on the dependent side. However, the internal jugular venous flow will be the same in both the prone and supine positions.

Colonic diverticulitis is a common clinical condition in patients presenting to the Emergency Department (ED) with abdominal pain. The diagnosis and staging of patients with suspected acute diverticulitis is often made by CT imaging with intravenous contrast, which involves radiation exposure, is expensive and has contraindications. The aim of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy and role of bedside abdominal US for the diagnosis of acute diverticulitis
