The feasibility and impact of respiratory rehabilitation (RR) in patients with advanced or metastatic (EGF-R WT or mutated) non-small cell lung cancer treated with oral targeted therapy including Inhibitors of EGF-R tyrosine kinases (TKI) and ALK inhibitors. These patients will benefit, at the beginning of the chemotherapy whatever the treatment line, of a respiratory rehabilitation. The respiratory rehabilitation takes place at the patient's home with the HAD's cooperation 3 ...
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a chronic respiratory disease characterized by persistent airflow limitation. The patients are suffering dyspnea year by year, resulting in the decreased exercise tolerance and quality of life. Patients with COPD often have both inspiratory muscles and expiratory muscle dysfunction. Respiratory muscle training was one of the widely used pulmonary rehabilitation method in COPD patients. Respiratory muscle training include inspirato...
To assess the effect of a test antimicrobial oral rinse from Next Science on the prevention of oral biofilm formation and thereby preventing gingivitis by monitoring the oral microbial flora and measuring gingival inflammation and bleeding.
The relationship between older adults and live-in migrant caregivers is always challenged by weak emotional connectedness, ineffective communication, power struggling and unmet needs of both, that may lead to poor care quality and negatively influence their well-being. The aim of this study is to explore the feasibility to train live-in migrant caregivers to adopt Life Story Work for promoting the dyadic relationship with the older adults, through communication and negotiation,...
A retrospective cohort of solid organ transplant (SOT) and hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) recipients will be assembled to determine the incidence of respiratory viral infections diagnosed during an inpatient admission in the first year post-transplant. A sub-cohort of patients that develop a respiratory viral infection within one year of transplantation will be leveraged to investigate factors associated with mortality in the three months after respiratory viral infe...
This study is a double-blind placebo-controlled randomized clinical trial (RCT) to provide Class I evidence in support of or in refute of the efficacy of the modified Story Memory Technique (mSMT) in healthy aging (HA)and in persons with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Outcomes will be measured through three mechanisms: (1) a traditional neuropsychological evaluation (NPE) (2) an assessment of global functioning (AGF) examining the impact of the treatment on daily activities, ...

Determine the diagnostic accuracy for pulmonary tuberculosis in adults of the E-Nose in Venezuela.
In obese children, excess fat on the thorax exerts an unfavorable burden on the respiratory system, particularly during exercise; however, it is unclear if this burden reduces exercise tolerance, provokes dyspnea on exertion, or contributes to respiratory symptoms that could be misdiagnosed as asthma, placing obese children at risk of unnecessary treatment and potentially a reluctance to exercise explaining reports of low physical activity and fitness levels, which are counterp...
