To assess the vision of study patients. To test the feasibility of a prototype NEI-sponsored multicenter clinical trial in which participating clinics are not financially reimbursed and in which both the Coordinating and Fundus...
The value of sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) in patients underwent neoadjuvant chemotherapy is controversial. Lower detection rate and higher false negative rate are the main problem. The purpose of this study is to determine the detection rate and the false negative rate of SLNB by indocyanine green (ICG) in addition to blue dye (methylene blue) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with large or locally advanced breast cancer. This is a single arm clinical trial.
The purpose of this study is to compare the Instillation Technique Using The Modified Intra- Uterine Manipulator Catheter With Methylene Blue, Isosulfan Blue or Indocyanine Green Dyes, Compared to Cervical Injection, For Sentinel Lymph Node Detection in Endometrial Carcinoma.
This clinical trial is a prospective, multicenter, self-controlled clinical study. In order to meet the requirements of this plan, 130 breast cancer patients need the sentinel lymph node biopsy with novel near-infarred fluorescence imaging system produced by Beijing digital precision medical technology co., LTD. The fluorescence molecular imaging of indocyanine green (ICG) on imaging detection and the control group, routine medical using methylene blue test .The safety and effi...
Background: Intestinal resections are commonly performed in the pediatric population. Perfusion of the bowel is one of the most important factors determining the viability of an intestinal anastomosis. Up to date, no ideal method to assess intestinal perfusion has proven its superiority. Objectives: Primary: The aim of this study is to establish the feasibility and impact of the use of indocyanine green technology on intestinal resection margins during elective and emer...
Teriparatide is the only bone formation therapy that has been approved for the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis in Canada. Osteoporosis is currently diagnosed using a bone mineral density (BMD) scan, which measures the amount of mineral (calcium etc) in bones (the higher the amount of mineral, the lower the fracture risk). Although BMD is linked to bone strength and is used to measure fracture risk, it does not give information on bone structure (called bone geometry) ...
The goal of this clinical research study is to compare methylene blue (an oral rinse) to standard therapy to learn if one is better, the same, or worse than the other in controlling mucositis (mouth blisters/sores). Standard therapy may include regular analgesics (numbing medications) and mouth rinses. This is an investigational study. Methylene blue is FDA approved and commercially available to treat methemoglobinemia (a type of blood disorder). It is considered investigation...
The conduit arteries exhibit a viscoelastic behavior. Visco-elasticity is partially regulated by endothelium and contributes to the optimization of the heart-vessel coupling. Aging or high resting heart rate (HR) could altere visco-elastic properties leading to increase stiffness of the conduit arteries, an independent cardiovascular risk factor, and degradation of heart-vessel coupling. Lowering HR with ivabradine could reduce these effects. The objective of this study ...
The purpose of this study is to determine whether green tea may lower the risk of certain cancers.
This study will compare by swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT) the retinal morphology after inverted internal limiting membrane (I-ILM) flap vitreoretinal surgery for medium-to-large macular holes using infracyanine green (IFCG) vs brilliant blue G (BBG) dyeing. It is a single-center prospective, randomized study. One group of patients will undergo I-ILM vitrectomy with IFCG staining, the other vitrectomy with BBG staining. Postoperative six-month corrected dista...
This study aimed to retrospectively examine patients evaluated by the Code Blue team on a Code Blue call in our hospital between 2016-2017. Primary outcome: an examination of the survival rates and demographic data of the patients evaluated as an emergency by a Code Blue call in the period 2016-2017. Secondary outcome: to determine the rates of false Code Blue calls, the clinics giving Code Blue calls and the relationship between the times of Code Blue calls and mortality.
We hypothesized that pre-treatment with methylene blue could potentiate the effects of general anaesthetic agents in patients undergoing parathyroidectomy
This study will investigate the effects on bone quality of a medication (Teriparatide) used to treat people with severe osteoporosis. Although BMD is...
The purpose of this study is to map the arm lymphatic drainage system in the axilla with blue dye and the breast drainage system with a radioactive material. By identifying the arm lymphatics they can be protected during surgery and this may decrease the occurrence of lymphedema. The information obtained in this study may provide us with better surgical techniques to identify and protect the arm lymphatic drainage system in the axilla.
The investigators hypothesize that new runners participating in an 8 week strength and coordination training program prior to beginning to run will 1) display different coordination patterns , and 2) experience fewer injuries, compared to new runners who do not perform strength or coordination training prior to running.
Several stakeholders are implied in cancer care pathways and there is a need for coordinating their actions. New occupations of care coordination have thus emerged. However, the conditions of their efficiency have been too few reported and included discrepancies between reports. In this context, the main objective is to propose a modeling of care coordination and associated emerging occupations (nurse-based) by comparing theoretical expected outcomes to professionals, patients ...
The body of evidence regarding the health benefits of green tea has grown considerably during the last decade and includes antioxidant properties, anti- cancer, anti-obesity and anti-diabetes effects.
