This is a multicentre, non-interventional, prospective study to be carried out in representative oncology departments / institutions in order to determine the association between the presence of germline DNA-repair genes mutations and PD-L1 expression level in tumour and immune cells in breast cancer. No additional procedures besides those already used in the routine clinical practice will be applied to the patients.
The purpose of this study is to review retrospectively cases of breast cancer of the centers belonging to the BREST UNIT Tuscany North-West Wide Area and compare the imaging characteristics (ultrasound, mammography and mammary MRI if available) of breast cancer with the corresponding histological reports and assess whether in women 40 years are confirmed.
The purpose of the study is the identification and quantification of proteins expression level in breast cancer tissues. The imaging system is intended for diagnostic use as an aid to the pathologist in the detection, counting and classifying ER/PR IHC stained samples.
This bi-directional, multicentre study aims to assess multiparametric MRI Radiomics-based prediction model for identifying metastasis lymph nodes and prognostic prediction in breast cancer.
The purpose of the study is the identification and semi-quantification of Ki-67 protein expression level in breast cancer tissues by the GenASIs GoPth system as compared to manual reading of the same slides. The imaging system is intended for diagnostic use as an aid to the pathologist in the detection, counting and classifying ER/PR IHC stained samples
This is a multi-center study employing genomic expression profiling to assign preoperative systemic therapy (Doxorubicin/Cyclophosphamide (AC) or Docetaxel/Cyclophosphamide (TC)) for HER2 negative early stage breast cancer to compare responses in genomically guided versus random assignment and validate chemosensitivity prediction signatures. This study will build on previous studies of cancer cell lines that identified genomic signatures of drug sensitivity and retrospective an...
The purpose of the study is the identification and quantification of protein expression level in breast cancer tissues. The imaging system is intended for diagnostic use as an aid to the pathologist in the detection, counting and classifying her2 immunohistochemical (IHC) stained samples.
The aim of this retrospective study is to evaluate the value of pre-treatment and post-treatment multimodality MRI study, including quantitative evaluation of background parenchymal enhancement, for response prediction and evaluation. This study will include 100 patients treated in a single institution between 2011 and 2016
RATIONALE: Diagnostic procedures, such as breast duct lavage and breast duct endoscopy, may help doctors find tumor cells early and plan better treatment for breast cancer. Studying the pattern of gene expression in breast duct cells from patients with breast cancer and from healthy participants may help doctors learn more about changes that occur in DNA and identify biomarkers related to cancer. PURPOSE: This research study is studying breast duct lavage, breast duct endoscop...
After a core biopsy of the tumor is obtained, patients with locally advanced breast cancer are randomized to receive 4 cycles of full dose doxorubicin (75 mg/m2 e3w) or docetaxel (100 mg/m2 e3w). After the fourth cycle, patients are submitted to surgery to ascertain pathological response. They then receive the opposite drug, hormones, Herceptin, and radiation as indicated.
Clinicians are currently proposing second-line hormonal treatment to a metastatic patient who is progressing after first-line hormonal therapy if the initial disease was RH + with an increase in survival without recurrence more or less long. The biopsy of the metastatic site or sites is rarely performed because of the heaviness of the gesture. Clinicians are waiting for imaging, which can replace biopsy before the second-line metastatic hormone treatment in breast cancer, which...
The primary purpose of this non-interventional, multinational study is to assess the feasibility of assessing PD-L1 protein expression on cytological samples as a surrogate for histological samples obtained from participants with any stage of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) or small cell lung cancer (SCLC).
RATIONALE: Acupuncture may reduce joint pain in postmenopausal women with breast cancer. It is not yet known whether acupuncture is more effective than standard therapy analgesics in decreasing joint pain caused by aromatase inhibitors. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial is studying acupuncture to see how well it works compared with medication in reducing pain in postmenopausal women with breast cancer and joint pain.
The HuR protein binds to AU-rich elements in the untranslated 3' region of messenger RNA, thus allowing their stabilization. Its targets include multiple cell cycle regulating proteins, cytokines and growth factors. In some cancers, its overall expression level but especially its cytoplasmic expression are correlated to a higher grade and constitute a poor prognostic factor. To date, HuR's deregulation mechanisms remain poorly understood. A few experimental studies have shown t...
To evaluate the safety, dosimetry and efficacy of 99m-Tc labeled anti-HER2 single domain antibody (sdAb) (Product Code Name: 99mTc-NM-02) SPECT/CT imaging of HER2 expression in Breast Cancer and compare it with the existing gold standard " HER2 expression detection" by biopsy tissue immunohistochemistry (IHC) and/or Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH) method. It is also to establish a new clinical method of non-invasive HER2 expression detection in breast cancer using 99m...
The primary objective of the study is to evaluate changes in the expression of targeted biomarkers in invasive breast cancer tissue before and after SNDX-275 administration.
After breast cancer (BC) screening was introduced for all Swedish women in 1989-90 the number of early invasive BC, clin N0 rose dramatically. For these BC it was known that only 10 % or less was N+ after axillary dissection and the morbidity for axillary surgery was substantial. Omitting axillary dissection in a randomized trial was ruled out because of anticipated few events. A national cohort was decided for invasive unifocal BC, histological grade 1 or 2, T=max 10mm, free m...
Joint symptoms including stiffness, local pain and aches are common adverse reactions among breast cancer (BC) patients undergoing hormone treatments, while effective interventions for managing such symptoms have not been well explored so far. Acupuncture can be a promising approach to controlling joint symptoms in BC patients but current research evidence generated from several small-scale clinical studies have not been robust enough to support the use of acupuncture for cance...
The aim of the BRAGATSTON study is to provide a low cost tool for measuring CAC in breast cancer patients, thereby identifying patients at increased risk of CVD. Breast cancer patients and doctors can act upon this, by adapting the treatment and/or by adopting cardioprotective interventions. Hereby, the burden of CVD in breast cancer survivors can be reduced and better overall survival rates can be achieved.
To determine if Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation, using 3D CRT, is as effective as Whole Breast Irradiation following breast conserving surgery in women with an new histological diagnosis of ductal carcinoma in situ only or invasive breast cancer without evidence of metastatic disease. Effectiveness will be determined by the rate of ipsilateral breast tumour recurrence. General objective is to improve the convenience and quality of life of female patients who rece...
This clinicaltrial studies how well curcumin works to alleviate symptoms resulting from aromatase inhibitors taken by postmenopausal women for estrogen receptor positive/progesterone receptor positive breast cancer.
We hypothesize that Simvastatin administration would result in selective killing of the basal subtype of breast cancer, in particular, CD44+/CD24- breast cancer cells in primary tumor. We further hypothesize that tumor genomic changes would correlate with tumor response to Simvastatin. We are also looking to correlate Simvastatin biological effects with the expression pattern of initial status of primary tumor. In addition, we hypothesize that Simvastatin-induced tumor gene exp...
In this phase II, multicenter, self-controlled clinical trial, we will evaluate the safety and efficacy of OPERA® for treating anti-aromate inhibitors (AIs) induced arthralgia. The diagnosis of arthralgia will be based on the NCI-CTCAE v4.0 grade of ≥ 1 , A disorder characterized by a sensation of marked discomfort in a joint, mild pain (grade 1). Arthralgia will be assessed at the enrollment and every two months until the sixth month.
The purpose of this observational study is to describe radiological, clinical and histological characteristics of women with infiltrative breast cancer.
Endometrial cancer is the most common malignant disease of the female genital tract and the seventh most common cause of cancer death in women in Western countries. Histological type, grade and depth of myometrial invasion are prognostic factors in early stage disease as well as risk factors for lymph node metastasis. Systematic lymphadenectomy has recently been questioned for stage I disease based on the results from two randomized trials
