BioSphere Medical Company Profile

06:18 EDT 24th September 2017 | BioPortfolio

Since 1999, BioSphere Medical's primary mission has been to be a global leader in embolotherapy. The Company is pioneering the use of patented bioengineered microspheres as a new class of embolics for the treatment of tumors and vascular malformations by occluding their blood supply. We are driving demand for our proprietary microsphere technology as we penetrate additional key markets and launch additional products to support the ever-changing market demands.

Our first product, Embosphere® Microspheres, has been on the market in the U.S. since April, 2000. Our new, visible microsphere product, EmboGold™ Microspheres, was launched in the U.S. in September, 2001. We have completed Phase I and Phase II for FDA clearance to add the indication of treating uterine fibroids. The Company expects to have this approval by the end of 2002. In March of 2002, we received both CE and Canadian approvals to sell EmboGold Microspheres in Europe and Canada.
