The expertise of the company is marine microbiology, immunology, virology, biochemistry, marine toxins, cell bioassays for toxicity, shellfish food safety and HACCP. I am the developer of the rapid tests for PSP, ASP and DSP toxins which are now sold by my company Jellett Rapid Testing Ltd. I am a world leader in the development of rapid diagnostic tests for marine biotoxins. I also have expertise in phytoplankton analysis, toxic phytoplankton physiology, the development of rapid diagnostic tests for agents of biological and chemical terrorism, marine microbial respiration, characterization of marine microbial communities and activity, aquculture development, quality management of rapid diagnostic industries, HACCP implementation in shellfish growing and processing, regulatory management of aquaculture, and analysis of fisheries assessments. I also have worldwide expertise in invertebrate disease and immunity. I am also an expert for Class 1 chemical weapons and development of methods to detect them, and I worked as an expert for the Canadian govenment in this capacity at the UN's Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. I am an expert in the commercialization of biotechnology, and I worked with the Prime Minister of Canada's Expert Panel on Canada's Role in International Science and Technology. I worked with the Province of Nova Scotia on the development of their Innovation Economy, and with the Association of Official Analytical Chemists as a Method Reviewer in the area of rapid diagnostic tests for marine biotoxins and cell bioassays for marine biotoxins. I have worked with the UK Food Safety Authority, the FRS Marine Laboratory in Aberdeen, Integrin Advanced Biosystems, Cefas, and with a number of aqauculture and fisheries companies in the UK on the issues of biotoxins. Companies that have used my expertise in the UK include Loch Fyne Seafoods, Grampian Seafoods, Kildavanan Seafoods, West Coast Sea Products and the European Mollusc Producers Association.
