Role of the Dark 2Ag State in the Donor-Acceptor Copolymers as Pathway for Singlet Fission: a DMRG Study.

The mechanism of intramolecular singlet fission in the donor-acceptor type copolymer, especially the role of the dark 2Ag state is not so clear. In this letter, the electronic structure of the benzodi...

Theoretical study of the substituent effect controlling the radiative and non-radiative decay processes of platinum(ii) complexes.

Six platinum complexes bearing different electron-withdrawing groups (-CN, -NO2, -o-carborane, -SF5 and -CF2CF2CF3) have been designed to explore the electron-withdrawing capability and the conjugativ...

Theoretical Study and Design of Phosphorescent Cyclometalated (C^C*) Platinum(II) (Acac) Complexes: Substituent Effect Controls the Radiative and Nonradiative Decay Processes.

Density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent DFT calculations were performed to evaluate the influence of substituent effect of (1) R=4-Me, (2) R=4-OMe and (3) R=2,3-OC6H4 on the phenyl ring of ...

Diagrammatic Exciton Basis Theory of the Photophysics of Pentacene Dimers.

Covalently linked acene dimers are of interest as candidates for intramolecular singlet fission. We report many-electron calculations of the energies and wavefunctions of the optical singlets, the low...

The Lowest Triplet of Tetracyanoquinodimethane via UV/vis Absorption Spectroscopy with Br-Containing Solvents.

This study was undertaken to find the previously unknown lowest triplet of the isolated molecule of tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ), which is a widely used organic semiconductor. The problem is topica...

NIPD on CFTC for Triplet Repeat Diseases

The purprose of this study is to develop and validate an analytical and clinical NIPD test for triplet repeat disesases by isolated circulating fetal trophoblastic cells (CFTC) analysis fr...

Aberration-Free Refraction Correction

In the interest of improving visual quality after LASIK we have designed a multifaceted study to test the theoretical, physical, biomechanical and functional effects of commercial and inde...

Optimal Insulin Correction Factor in Post- High Intensity Exercise Hyperglycemia in Adults With Type 1 Diabetes (FIT)

The overall objective of this study is to investigate the glycemic response of a 0%, 50%, 100% and 150% bolus insulin correction (based on personal insulin correction factor) of post-exerc...

17OHP for Reduction of Neonatal Morbidity Due to Preterm Birth (PTB) in Twin and Triplet Pregnancies

Hypothesis: Among women with twin or triplet pregnancies, weekly injections of 17-alpha-hydroxyprogesterone caproate (17OHP), started before 24 weeks of gestation, will reduce neonatal mo...

Intrastromal Correction of Ametropia by a Femtosecond Laser

This study evaluates the intrastromal correction of ametropia with a femtosecond laser made by 20/10 PERFECT VISION. This laser generates a beam of ultrashort, infrared pulses which enable...

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

The comparative and theoretical study of culture, often synonymous with cultural anthropology.

Theoretical representations that simulate the behavior or activity of systems, processes, or phenomena. They include the use of mathematical equations, computers, and other electronic equipment.

The study of speech or language disorders and their diagnosis and correction.

Type III intermediate filament proteins that assemble into neurofilaments, the major cytoskeletal element in nerve axons and dendrites. They consist of three distinct polypeptides, the neurofilament triplet. Types I, II, and IV intermediate filament proteins form other cytoskeletal elements such as keratins and lamins. It appears that the metabolism of neurofilaments is disturbed in Alzheimer's disease, as indicated by the presence of neurofilament epitopes in the neurofibrillary tangles, as well as by the severe reduction of the expression of the gene for the light neurofilament subunit of the neurofilament triplet in brains of Alzheimer's patients.
