The purpose of the study is to determine the safety, pharmacokinetics and efficacy of orally administered VX-135 with ribavirin in treatment naive subjects with chronic hepatitis C infection.
This project examines the effects of a 4 month structured exercise intervention program in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). We will examine changes in total and depot-specific (i.e.in different tissues, liver, muscle and pancreas)fat. We will correlate these with measurements of the insulin from the liver. The hypothesis is that by reducing fat in these specific depots we can reduce insulin resistance and prevent progression to diabetes.
Phase I study to evaluate the excretion of radioactivity, the metabolic profile, pharmacokinetics, safety and tolerability following a single oral administration of [14C] Prucalopride Succinate in healthy male volunteers aged 18 to 50 years (inclusive). The purpose of this study is to investigate how and how quickly Prucalopride Succinate or its break down products are excreted by analysing blood, faeces and urine samples collected during the study.

The aims and hypotheses of this project are to: 1)Test the effects of cSBI-M on any alcohol use. Hypothesis: Among 18- to 25-yr-old USN/USMCs coming for routine health screenings, those receiving cSBI-M will have lower rates of a...
1/2-MC4R Genotype and Pediatric Antipsychotic Drug- Induced Weight Gain
We will conduct a 12-week, randomized open label study, comparing usual care (UC) antipsychotic treatment (aripiprazole, quetiapine, risperidone) with ziprasidone (ZIP) in children and adolescents aged 13-18 years old. Patients will have 10 days or less lifetime antipsychotic exposure and be in clinical need for antipsychotic treatment for a pediatric psychiatric disorder with FDA indication for antipsychotic use, i.e., bipolar mania, schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, and irrit...
Screen-and-treat approach reduces postabortal pelvic inflammatory disease after induced abortion, and at the same time alters women's sexual behavior and prevents further re-infection by sexually transmitted infections when compared to the universal antibiotic prophylaxis strategy.
Regorafenib Post-marketing Surveillance
This study is a regulatory post-marketing surveillance in Japan, and it is a local prospective and observational study of patients who have received Regorafenib for colorectal cancer. The objective of this study is to assess safety and effectiveness of Regorafenib using in real clinical practice. A total of 1,250 patients are to be enrolled and assessed in 6 months standard observational period. At 12 months after the first administration of Regorafenib for confirmation...
USG Nerve Blocks for ACL Reconstruction
Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction is a routine surgical procedure. Traditional femoral/sciatic block combinations effectively reduce postoperative pain, but results in considerable motor blockade. The investigators aimed to evaluate postoperative pain relief and the degree of motor block with block combinations of femoral nerve (FEM) and obturator [posterior branch] nerve (ONP), versus saphenous nerve (SAPH) and ONP, versus placebo blocks with isotonic saline. All patie...

The primary objective is to determine whether IL administration of BCG followed by intravenous (IV) infusion of...
Ventricular Arrhythmias in Uremic Cardiomyopathy
There is a certain gene called sarcoplasmic reticulum gene (SERCA2a), which is found in heart muscle. This gene is also found in blood vessels and skin tissue. When active this gene builds a crucial protein inside the heart muscle called SERCA2a protein. This is responsible for regulating calcium levels inside your heart muscle. When this gene is not activated, studies have shown that it can lead to abnormal electrical currents in the heart that can lead to death. The investiga...
The objective of this NIS is to assess in a real-life setting, usage patterns and associated outcomes in the management (healthcare resource utilisation and associated costs) of patients with acute deep vein thrombosis treated with Xarelto, in accordance with the terms of the European marketing authorization and the Belgian reimbursement criteria.
Relative Bioavailability of Oral Suspension of Rivaroxaban Compared to Standard Tablet
Rivaroxaban is a substance developed for use in the treatment of blood coagulation disorders. Thrombosis (blood clots) can occur as a result of excessive coagulation activity in the blood vessels. Excessive coagulation activity can occur in children as well, and rivaroxaban is therefore being developed for the treatment of thromboembolic events in children and adolescents. As small children are often unable to swallow tablets, an oral suspension (mixture of a liquid containing...
Are Newborns Conscious of the Placebo Effect? Result From an RCT in Osteopathy
Results from previous studies suggest the association between Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) and length of stay (LOS) reduction in a population of preterm infants. The primary objective of the present study is to evaluate the effectiveness of sham OMT in reducing LOS in a sample of preterm newborns, in order to investigate whether previous clinical results could be related to a hypothetical placebo effect.
